  • It would be nice to have another opportunity to play Xavier after the missed opportunity in Orlando.
Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.

None of these brackets identify Evansville and Southern Illinois as potential seeds; seems a shame to me since one of those teams could finish the season with a 30-5 record and the other with 29-6.

      • 8 or 9 seed woukd work. Would prefer a 7 or 6, which I think we can get.

SIU's best win of the year is either a home win vs UNI, or a home win vs Indiana State. Let that sink in. BEST WIN OF THE YEAR.

SIU lost to UTEP (neutral) and SIU-Edwardsville (home). The Salukis have a lot of work to do to even sniff the bubble. They already lost their home game vs the Shox by 25 pts, so unless they plan to win in Wichita next month, they are looking at the NIT at best. Even that is probably a long shot.

I think Evansville has a shot at an at large. Vegas, KenPom and other places I have seen all have them around #40 in the country. Sorry quoted the wrong person.

            • Evansville MUST beat WSU in the upcoming rematch to have any shot at an atlarge. The fact that they have avoided bad losses is the main reason I give Evansville more hope than SIU. Still, a long shot for sure.

              • Jerry Palm's recent bracketology has us as an 11 seed with Oregon the 6 seed and Iowa State as the 3 seed.

That'd be a hell of a draw. Don't see any issues getting to the S16 there.

                • Oregon and WSU are an interesting comparison. They have 4 common opponents. Oregon beat USC, Utah, and Alabama. They lost to UNLV.

                  • Jerry Palm is also extremely clueless. I don't put any stock into anything he posts.

With our current team, I think we would crush those 4 opponents.

Jerry Palm is the 56th best bracketologist veteran out there.
Lunardi is 36th and got a big boost last year, which is generally agreed upon as one of the worst jobs the committee has done in years.

                          • Didn't Jerry Palm claim to invent the RPI?

You'd think he'd put a little bit more stock into it.

                            ... No really, deuces.

My recollection is not that he invented it, but that he was the first to publish it on the internet. And if that's the case, he has no credentials to be considered a knowledgeable bracketologist. His claim to fame has come and gone. Time for Jerry to leave it up to the experts and go back to playing with HTML.
