Our D is better than it's been in a while, but it's nothing to worry about--certainly nothing you guys haven't seen better than this year, and nothing like the fearsome D of SIU teams of the past.
I really am looking forward to seeing how Mike Rodriguez stands up to the first truly quality PG he will face this year--or indeed that he has
faced in his entire life. :)

Now, I enjoy listening to him, watching him coach and generally the little that I know about him I like. But he absorbed something at ku that didn't make him a better person imho (and others).
I think most everyone can figure that out.
I hated the great SIU teams of 8-16 years ago. Mostly because they were so damned tough, which is exactly what I wanted WSU to be. We were so soft.
I still say one of the best moments at a WSU game was a loss to SIU.
This conference is so much better with a strong SIU and I know (or at least have hope) that they will pull their own weight schedule-wise if they can "get back".
And I will always pull for the Dawgs OOC and in tourneys. I can't say that for some other Valley programs.
I also feel bad for GREAT fans like MSNSaluki. He's the best kind of fan and deserves better than what he's got of late.
Just joking my friend ... my dislike for Hinson is genuine.
I'm not a great SIU fan. I am, though, a logical SIU fan and have the ability to look past the gaudy record and see what's really happening with our program. Talk to me this time next year ... we'll be below .500 at that point and Barry will have new YouTube videos in his honor. At least that's what I think will happen.
Thanks for the hospitality!

I hope the Shox win with ease but I'm half-tempted take the +7. It's gonna be a close game.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

I know it was a low point in your program but you guys really know how to pull out all the stops. It was solid entertainment for an outsider.
Salukitalk is easily my favorite opposing board to read at. A LOT of activity, even in trying times. A good dose of realism mixed in with homerism and some great zingers and wit. And overall, a pretty intelligent fanbase. I don't think we've ever had any problems with Saluki fans on here. Ever.
It's good to see SIU relevant again. You may argue the definition of "relevant" but first place is on the line 2 weeks into the season. When's the last time you guys could say that? Beane is a really fun player to watch, especially when WSU is not involved. I think you're selling your team short. The game could go either way tomorrow. Home crowd, confidence, and a big playmaker can go a long way.Deuces Valley.

We do have very talented and funny people on our board. There are always a lot of laughs. Of course, humor is all we've had for a while. It's hard to cheer for a bunch of bike thieves and academic misfits who go 10-21 every year.
I wish I was selling my team short. You'll see tomorrow.

Man, I'm really hoping SIU has turned the corner and will make this a true rivalry again. I forgot how cool their fan base is. I'm really liking having our guests around right now.
I hated the dogs back in the mid '00s--respected the hell out of them, though."It's amazing to watch Ron slide into that open area, Fred will find him and it's straight cash homie."--HCGM

Looks like I'm required to subscribe to it and pay $10."If you're going to do it, you're going to do it right," athletic director Jim Schaus said. "If we're going to put 'Wichita State' across our chest, then every team is going to matter."

Following assessment is from the WSU website. You have to love the last line!
THE STAKES
A Shocker Win Would...
... be their eighth win in nine tries and extend their season-best winning streak to five-games.
... extend their MVC road winning streak to six games, dating back to last February.
... be Gregg Marshall's 214th at WSU - six shy of Ralph Miller for the school's all-time record.
... be their third-straight in Carbondale (matching a program-best) and their sixth in the last seven visits to SIU.
... improve them to 4-0 in MVC play for the fourth-consecutive year.
...give them six-straight
A Shocker Loss Would...
...snap a four-game winning streak.
...be just their second in the last three MVC seasons.
... drop WSU out of first place for the first time since the end of the 2012-13 season.
... be less good than a win.
