Well, I guess now is as good of a time as any. If anyone isn't going to be able to use their tix tomorrow and it ends up being a night game, let me know (specially if there are at least 3 available) what you've got and how much you want for them.

They could have, but they didn't. Plus who know with Christmas being on Friday whether they would even have their team back together in order to leave before Sunday morning. Not too mention re-scheduling a commercial flight for that many people on such short notice would have been quite problematic. Also I am quite sure they scheduled their Sunday morning flight well in advance of any storm predictions and did not schedule a flight right in the middle of a predicted blizzard.

When, SB -- on Christmas? Most teams give their players a little time off, and it's been pretty unpleasant, and getting worse, in New Mexico and West Texas since Saturday afternoon. Did you see any of the "Sun" Bowl football in El Paso? NMSU didn't do anything unreasonable, and WSU is handling this mess with class and professionalism.

It seems that they would've been able to secure a charter plane or at least had one on standby for yesterday or today before this morning with the amount of time the blizzard has been in the works. That being said, I can understand them not anting to leave any earlier, and can't blame them for the weather. I just hope it's able to be played at night.

Yes, they could have done that but they didn't. Plus who is to say a charter flight would not be cancelled. Good chance it would have been cancelled as well. In any case, this issue isn't really what NMSU should have done differently. The issue was should WSU enforce a $50,000 cancellation penalty if the game is not played. I am confident WSU would not do that even if they thought the contract allowed it and I doubt the contract would allow it.

              Huh? What you say?

              That is all.
Above all, make the right call.

Im guessing it will be early tip tomorrow with us having to play at 1 on Thursday for the MVC opener

I agree with this for the most part. If WSU had a couple of open dates that they were giving NMSU as alternative dates AND NMSU wasn't playing those days, but NMSU didn't want to make the trip, then they may enforce it.

I don't see that being a big factor. I think the factors that will determine the game time will be what time will NMSU be able to get to Wichita with a reasonable allowance for possible travel delays and what options do they have from moving the women's game to the afternoon or to a different location.

The Shockers can use today and Wednesday to work on Drake instead of doing that tomorrow and Wednesday. They don't have to go hard on Wednesday. Not ideal perhaps but not that bad.

Maybe. A lot depends on what kind of future relationship you might like to have with NMSU. As far as buy-game opponents they are well above average in my opinion and it is worth foregoing any cancellation penalty in this instance to perhaps keep that option open for the future.

Well if there is no consequences for NMST, they probably shouldn't come. They have a game at home on Wednesday.

No consequences? They lose out on their 6-figure pay day. That seems like a little bit of a consequence.

BTW, New Mexico State's game on Wednesday night is against NAIA Arizona Christian. I think they can handle that.

If they just didn't show up then WSU might enforce the $50k penalty on them. But for NMS I think this is a win-win series. Not only the pay check, but for them a good RPI game.
