Whether WSU wants to help NMSU out financially is probably totally dependent on how badly they want this game. From strictly a dollar and cents standpoint I assume WSU comes out ahead if the game doesn't occur. I guess WSU loses the game sponsor fees, the net concession revenues, and perhaps they take a hit from Cox 22 not getting the game to broadcast. Not sure what kind of money that is relative to the money they save from not owing the buy.
It may boil down to how badly does 3G wants this game. Not sure it will make all that much difference on the Shockers RPI or how the committee will look at the Shockers come March.
I could see WSU offering to pay for charter flight this year if NMSU agrees to come to Wichita for two more games during the next 4 years at the current rate reduced by half the cost of the charter flight for each of those two games. Then paying for the charter, in effect, just becomes and advanced payment against the cost of two more buy games with NMSU.Last edited by 1972Shocker; December 28, 2015, 04:06 PM.

Mario Moccia should have pretty good knowledge of how the Valley works given his tenure as SIU AD.

Projected RPIs crack me the eff up. Projected RPIs in December are even more hilarious.
These "projected RPIs" are meaningless because the numbers constantly evolve. What you're projecting now is based on a snapshot of data at the current moment. It's useless. This doesn't even consider all the different outcomes, injuries, and anything else that gets thrown out there throughout the year. What was WSU's "projected RPI" on November 10th? Is that piece of information gonna be valuable on March 10th to the selection committee? lol nope.
So saying this game is worth 4 RPI points is beyond dumb, because it'll change. Now, you can state that the game would be one less Top 200 win on the resume. And we're in dire need of wins. But don't throw in projected RPI as something specific and meaningful to the discussion because it's beyond silly.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

If the game is dropped and WSU does not have the NMST win on their resume it drops their projected RPI by 4 spots.
Not sure what happens to the ticket holders. Season or otherwise. My guess is nothing. However, if it was me I would let each those tickets be exchange for two tickets to any other Shocker home game or match in any of the other Shocker sports.

The Aggies, who were scheduled to travel via commercial flights very early Sunday morning, experienced a series of flight cancellations due to the weather that prevented them from either leaving the El Paso airport or being able to arrive at Wichita.
