My wife just found out and told me that said daughter does not have school on Friday, so could go with us. She does have a Y basketball game on Saturday, but wife thinks she'd be willing to skip it for a trip to the tourney. Anyway, she should know in about an hour and a half, so I'm probably asking a little prematurely, but it appears that I may be looking for 3 tickets. If you have or know of anyone that has extras, shoot me a pm and let me know what you would like to get for them. We wouldn't be able to make it up in time for the Thursday games, and don't care too much about Session 3 (that the Shocks aren't involved with), but would consider buying all session passes if that was the best way to go. Let me know. Thanks.
I just bought four through Indiana State

    • FYI, there are 40% off Groupons at Giovanni's on the Hill. $60 for $100 or $30 for $50.

      Always looking for a deal!

      • We have enjoyed Anthonios on the hill. They did remodel last year and modernized it which kind of affected the neighborhood atmosphere.

I agree. Watching basketball without worrying about the outcome is kind of nice. I offered to skip Thursday games several years ago thinking I was being nice. My wife wanted to go. God I love that woman.

                    Doc,
Will check with other members of the posse and get back with you. I'm sure this will require an executive session of the highest order. ;-)

                    That is all.
Above all, make the right call.

                    • Lafayette Square has some great restaurants and it's fairly close to the arena.

South Grand has some really great international restaurants.

If you're staying downtown and looking for a cheaper meal, I like sauce on the side. It's a calzone place. They even serve the "Costanza" from Seinfeld.

I googled arch madness tickets and called the number listed for Indiana State. I am also under the understanding that UNI may have tickets as well. They must be picked up at Scott Trade.

                          • Ended up with 3 in section 107, row E for Session 2. It's Evansville's section, but in a session that they don't play in, so I'm guessing we'll probably be in pretty good shape. Toward the end of our game and the one after, I'll start looking for fans of the losing teams to buy session 4 and 5 from. Do people usually buy while still in the arena, or is it better to wait until they get outside? Seems like waiting until you get outside may put you in the crossfire of some of the fine businessmen already positioned there, but I've never dealt with scalpers, so don't really know.

Also, our hotel has a metrolink right across the street, but I'm not sure how their system works. Do people normally just buy a day pass, or a per ride or what? And does it take you pretty much all the way to the Scottrade Center? Or to the pep rally?

The Civic Center station is a tenth of a mile from the arena, and both the red and blue lines stop there. Last time I was in St. Louis, I did mostly single ride fare, but I'd do the math regarding your expected usage.

Last year they sold an arch madness pass too. Can't remember the specifics but I think we ended up just buying the day passes. IIRC if you're only going to the arena from your hotel twice a day (once there, once back) it's cheapest to buy one way tickets. If you're going to use the metro to travel around the city then the all day pass is the way to go.

Either way you go the difference isn't much, like a few dollars per ticket or something.

My one suggestion if you choose one way passes is buy them ahead of time all at once. Otherwise you can get stuck behind a bunch of other people buying a pass which might cause you to miss a train which, when it's as cold as it has been in the past, really sucks.
