  • Also, Nurger and Conner both need gallons of protein shakes and triple time with Kerry.

    • I saw in the post-game video on the Eagle website, coach said Bush didn't play because of misconduct of an academic nature. Said he's suspended through Christmas.

I thought Nevada had a handful of very good athletes they could put on the floor but their depth wasn't good.

Perhaps the only Shocker I was relatively disappointed with tonight was Markis McDuffie. He just did not have it on either end of the floor tonight. But he is young but tonight shined a bright light on why Evan is playing ahead of Markis.

While Markis didn't have a very good game, I'll give him a pass early in his freshman year. CF was my most disappointing. He's D was not good, looked over matched, and unsure of himself. His play didn't give me warm fuzzies about him being the #1 PG next year. Thought JRS and CF's game tonight was a push. I just need to remember, the season is still young.

Also still only Conners 4th game as a shocker.

I mentioned that, however, Conner had a year at KWho and a RS year under Marshall, so I do expect more from him now than a freshman or walk-on.

            • Great great win tonight. First game of the year for me at the roundhouse thanks to @ShockTalk: for hooking me up with a great deal on two of his seats. I sat and texted @WuDrWu: through the game before Mrs. Doc got upset that we were on our phones. I also ran into @shoxlax: walking to the game by the RSC.

Couldn't have had a better evening.

#0 had some sick-nasty dunks. That reverse in traffic and one was surreal. Windmill dunk on the breakaway was Cottonesque.... But young man, shooshing the crowd while currently down 21 is a little childish.

#5 and Zach Bush were having words the entire time they both were in the game at the end. I have no idea what provoked the initial chatter but it was non-stop til the end.

Nevada was obviously frustrated with the officiating. I won't argue against a one sided game but..... That was some absolute horse **** at the end of the game. That's how people get injured. Bush league. Total bush league.

              • @WuDrWu: comments that Brown might have been the best player last night. How often does someone that's 1/1 from the field get that honor?

                • On the Nevada board, someone said that Baker looks like the "typical white guy gym rat." To me, he looks more like an All American who tore their defense apart all second half.

As I typed that last night I was lamenting actually putting that comment out publicly but from where I sat, it seemed every time something good happened he was in the middle of it.

His defense is starting to be, certainly not Cottonesque, but consistently very solid and disruptive. He's attacking the basket with authority. Limiting turnovers...11-12 from the line.

We are SO spoiled with what Ron and Fred give us the last 4 years...both again were fantastic. Just relative to what we saw early in the year I thought ZB was outstanding and I thought he competed, physically, as much or more than anyone on the floor. He wasn't getting backed down very often.

That was fun actually, and I am embarrassed that was your 1st game. Sometimes I just assume people have tickets. I'll do my best to change that.

                        • Will this will be a Season where the teams that can adapt to whatever emphasis the group of refs are calling, will have a better shot to win the very close games? However, this style of emphasis in the first half can quickly change dramatically in the second half as noted in the Seton Hall game.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

                          • Our lack of a junior class is scary right now. I don't wanna think about later. ..........Frankamp is quick enough and works hard on defense, but he is gonna give up a lot of points.

                              • I am hanging my hopes that Daishon Smith is the next big thing. Our team AF (After Fred) concerns me a bit. We have athletes but need someone to keep them corraled.
