"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

It would be nice if every foul was called a foul, and every little bit of minimal contact was passed on. You would think after years and years of it being that way, people would get used to it. As a fan, I can see both sides for sure. Without being on the floor, nobody knows why the officials call some things and not the other. It's just a matter of missed calls, not having the right angles, getting screened, etc. Nobody is perfect. Players miss shots and turn the ball over, officials miss calls, coaches make coaching mistakes, it really all works the same. You are correct that inconsistency is tough on players and coaches alike, but it happens.

I do have to wonder what happened to the stricter calling of fouls that was supposed to carry forward all season no matter what. This emphasis seemed to stop prior to the Orlando trip. It is not because players are no longer fouling as much.

So, just wondering, would people rather see a 66 foul, pushing 3 hour game like we had to begin the season? Or games where the stripes are letting them play, there's a flow to the game, and games get over in 2 hours. There's positives and negatives to both. Just asking genuinely, because I've heard people ***** either way. What is the preference here?

I'll obviously complain whenever Fred gets mugged going into the lane, but that's because I'm a Shocker fan. I'll complain a LOT more if Shaq breathes on a guy and gets whistled for his 4th foul in 9 minutes.

If you sat on the south end, you'd have seen it. Fred was twisting and turning attempting to break the armlock hold he was in. This was happening frequently, but I'd wager at least 4-5 times in the last quarter of play.

2 are going on it right frikkin now.

If you all want to keep talking about the officiating specifically related to the UNLV game go ahead. If it's generalize talk of the new officiating rules, I highly suggest the discussion is continued in its own thread.

There will be all sorts of complaints about being scheduled, hostile environment, the officiating. The local guys are pretty good about squashing bullshit. One of the hosts was raving about FVV on the Twitter all night.
The main show of the day starts at 1pm DooDah time.

EDIT: I personally have never called MK a homer, but I know that he occasionally gets that criticism.ShockerNet is a rat infested cess pool.
