Thank you for taking the time to educate yourself on that, it definitely is much appreciated. I wish I understand why that was the case too, but it is. I think there are too many media timeouts anyways, but I understand, you gotta have the commercials and the ads. Unfortunately.

I've found that you can try and educate fans over and over yet they still won't get it. It's a losing battle with fans, and if I'm going to have the battle, I'd rather have it with the people that matter, which are the players and coaches. In reality, when I'm officiating, the fans mean nothing to me.

Trust me, I'm not pissed, I'm used to it. It gets old, and I've tried to educate on here, but I always get flamed for it, so I'm just done. Instead of arguing with fans on here that don't have a clue and trying to educate them and getting nowhere, I'm choosing just to ignore. That way I don't get an unnecessary timeout for saying the wrong thing to an uneducated fan that refused to be educated.

It actually happened twice in the St. Louis game I believe, which was definitely wrong. I'd have to go back and look to see if 1 of those was the first team timeout taken in the 2nd half, since it appears that is the exception to the rule.

Definitely not. If anything they got called for way more ticky tack fouls. Other than the whistles completely benefitting the Shox, it was a well called game from 3 guys you will see officiating deep into March

Wouldn't the whistles "completely benefitting" one team mean that it couldn't be a "well called game?"

I do believe one of them was an under 16 timeout, and it could've been in the second half. I don't remember.

IMO the officials did what officials usually do. They got the majority of calls correct, the got a handful of calls wrong and probably missed a handful of calls. Did the calls egregiously favor one team over the other. The majority of UNLV fans will say they favored WSU. The majority of WSU fans will say they favored UNLV. Seemed like a pretty normal result. Quite frankly I thought they called the game okay. Not great, but not terrible and certainly much better than the 66 foul effort we got in the home opener.

Thoughts from Sec 120:

- Man, UNLV was athletic, but they literally played out-of-control all night.
- @ShockBand and I did, in fact, go shoot free throws after the game.
- Who'da thunk the impact of Conner Frankamp's first game at WSU was a good defensive effort and two key free throws?
- I appreciate the bravado of the UNLV fans in attendance - we want our fans to be loud at other places too - but there are lines you don't cross, and they crossed them.

- I'm happy for the relatively light schedule for the next couple of weeks after the Utah game to give Fred some more time to work out that hamstring and get back into shape. I don't think the leg was gimpy so much as he was a bit out of game shape because he's had to rest it so much. Barring catastrophe, he should be completely back to normal by the conference schedule.
- The previous statement acknowledges that a 17/4/4 outing is somehow a sub-optimal performance from Fred, which is just ludicrous. I'll say it again, the man will be playing on Christmas Day eventually.
- Dear Shaq and Rauno: GO STRAIGHT UP WITH THE BALL!!! DON'T PUT IT ON THE *$@&$@ING FLOOR!!
- Anyone know what had Fred so steamed at the end of the game?

The regular folks, who sit in front of me, sold their 4 seats to some Reb fans. Three Rebs sat in 4 seats.

Two rebs were cool. The third was an @$$hole.

I wondered how long it would be before you dropped your quarter in the mix. Yes, I realize this is a fan forum, but you can't expect an official who is also a fan not to come on here and get upset at the constant unnecessary official bashing all the frikkin time. Officials are never the reason a team loses a game no matter what anybody says. And.. if you'll notice, I myself have been highly critical of the officiating we've had throughout the year.

I just happen to think last night was one of the better called games, maybe that has something to do with the fact that the whistles favored us. Then again, I watched from at home. Perhaps some of these people that were complaining actually were at the game. I mean it's common knowledge that the view is better from the stands, right?

If you think I'm just going to come on here and be happy about the constant official bashing, you're wrong. And if you're going to tell me to stay away, that's not going to happen either because I am a fan of the Shox true and through. Hence my decision to ignore those that constantly have something to say to me when I start praising officials.

You did see the part where I said "other than" didn't you? Aside from that, yes I thought it was a well called game, despite the fact we seemed to get the benefit of the whistles.
