I'm not sure Martin is a better coach w/o Beasley.

Did anybody catch the Oklahoma Coach after he got the T? He was extremely verbal from there. I had to leave soon thereafter and he was still slinging the verbage and no 2nd T. Quite the contrast from the WSU St. Louis game when HCGM turned away from the sensitive ref and got tossed? Am I missing something here?

Honestly, every time I see Frankie "The Scar" Martin with that look of a deranged serial killer look on his face - which is 98% of the time during games - I just laugh. Seriously, how long will talented kids put up with being grilled during every time out as if you just raped and killed his mother? He looks like a goon bouncer who's taken too many steriods and is drunk at a club on Saturday night.

            Cat

The Cat is characteristically clueless. What "power conference" ever showed an interest in WSU?

Meanwhile, in good years the MVC has shown it can have as many teams in the tournament as the ACC or Big 10 do. So being in the Valley isn't a problem -- even this year. The problem this year was just that the Shocks were bad and unlucky both, which is a deadly combination.

But that won't be a concern much longer.

During last night's TAMU game, did anyone else see MT make his own travelling call? I was expecting a technical to be called immediately. Didn't happen.

And if you think Marshall can stare down a ref, watch Doc Sadler.

How many sets of rules are there, anyway?

If you want to be a part of all this join a top level (or BCS as you all call it) conference. Like it or not that's the way it is. WSU decided years ago to not spend the money to be at that level and stayed in the Valley. At least the NCAA greatly expanded the tournament beginning in 1975 so that lower level schools can participate. Before then it was a 16 team tournament filled mostly by the winners of the "BCS" level conferences.

As for the 'Cats it's been a fun up and down ride this year. I think we are in fairly easily as the 3rd place team in the top RPI conference. But unless things change, which I doubt they will, it will be a very short NCAA trip. beats staying home though.

I hope Illinois State makes it - only because of Jank being the coach. Damn good guy that played on some great KSU teams.

                Get those checkbooks out!
So every team needs to join a 'top level' conference to be worth anything..?

                Yep.. that makes sense.. idiot..

As already mentioned, the Valley is now a perennial top 8 basketball conference. As much as that pains you, deal with it. Obviously, WSU athletics is relevant to you despite being in a 'non-BCS' conference as judging by your constant presence here. Thanks for caring about a 'low-level' school.

As for NCAA tournament talk, WSU has been to the NCAA's more recently than Kitty State. WSU has won more NCAA tournament games the last two years than Kitty State has won in the past two decades.

                Deal with it.
                Deuces Valley.
                ... No really, deuces.

The only "problem" with being in the Valley is that BCS teams and their fans still seem surprised when they continue to lose to Valley teams.

Obviously, BCS membership has not meant the automatic punching of the dance card for teams like KSU and Baylor, which may finally get a chance to play in the tournament this year.

Cat, while you may describe this year as "fun" there seem to be many of your fellow fans who would describe it otherwise, i.e. of wasted opportunities and talent.

Next year will be an interesting one to be a Cat fan. I'm sure Beasley will continue to dominate and with him as your leader, the sky is the limit!

Georgia (16-16, 4-12 SEC) up on Arkansas 18-5 early in the SEC Championship game.

Not what the bubble teams want to see is it ?

Bubble teams also keeping a close eye on Illinois (16-18, 5-13 Big 10) vs Wisconsin.

                      Wisconsin up early 18-12.

The first half of the Kansas/Texas game was about as good as it gets, both teams hitting on all 8 cyclinders.

I'm not watching the game, but it sounds like the defenses never showed up for the game.
