Well, I wish them the best of luck.

    • I have family down there and they (the Memphis crowd) were bantering around his name a over half way through conference play.

Obviously so -- they finally beat WSU there, didn't they?

Nasty little turn of events for the Jailbirds today, though.

How could he not be? Well, maybe not if Rick Pitino is ready to get out of Dodge while there's still time in Louisville -- after all, Memphis was once home to Calipari, so why not Pitino as well?

But Wichita is a much better place to live than Memphis is (my opinion, having experienced both), Charles Koch is here, and no reconstruction is required here. Plus, if he just waits a while, he may end up in the AAC anyway, without the trouble of moving.

I know. It helped to overcome The Shockers disappointing performance a little.

They might not even make the NIT. 8 D

Memphis doesn't scare me. Louisville, on the other hand........

Ok, I've been officially hit over the head with a "b12/ku fan" dumb-stick:

The Trees didn't really "beat" the turds yesterday regardless of what my eyes saw... They only U-P-S-E-T them. EUREKA. NOW I GET IT!!! The better team never really loses!

Another question: Are you & Kel related?

                • This off season would have been a much scarier one than last off season because Fred and Ron are gone and it's an obvious transition point. Im really glad we already did what we needed to do to keep HCGM for the long haul last year. Now that his deal here is nearly impossible to beat, a place like Memphis would have to do an awful lot... Probably even more than what Alabama did. That's pretty crazy territory. It's always possible that HCGM might be interested in making a change one more time, but like we always say, it's gonna be a better place than Memphis if so.

I really want to go bump the huge HCGM rumor thread with "'Marshall to Memphis, it's a done deal"

                  • Every effing program with a coaching vacancy thinks that they can get Marshall.

This is just getting silly now. Every year the potential list of of schools able to get him gets smaller and smaller. To be honest, I don't even know if there are more than 5-10 at this point.

Memphis, you are not one of them.

folks down there have been chirping since January about going after HCGM. I am not worried, now if Louisville comes open I will start chanting the serenity prayer.

If a big offer does happen from somewhere, it sure would be nice to have some news on the conference affiliation front prior to that

                        • Yeah. I do think a search for a better conference for Wichita St was discussed in Marshall's contract negotiations last year. He obviously has not been a fan of the Doug Elgin's "keep it fair" wink-wink conference. I really hope we can make a move like yesterday to help our coach not having to consider a coaching move.

Marshall has outgrown the Valley...and quite frankly...so has the basketball program.

                          • If Marshall ever left for Memphis he would be out if his mind. Even Louisville is not Better than Wsu right now.

                            • He won't leave for Memphis and he doesn't want to clean up the Pitino mess. There will be no move this year.

Besides, Maggie will be what, junior or senior. Kellen left SMU so he could be at WSU. Ain't gonna happen.

If he wants a better conference, then WSU can always get one for him.
