What would you expect from sCUm (Bahe).

    • Isn't the Big East affiliated with Fox? Of course Fox is going to 'pump up' the teams they have a vested interest in. This is not a big deal.

That's cool and all, but at what point does it cross the line when you proclaim a total inaccuracy?

On what planet does WSU having a large lead in the first half and leading throughout most of the second only to lose in OT by 4 in a game where Seton Hall got every favorable whistle humanly possible translate to "Seton Hall won handily"?

            Here is my theory:

            1. Winning handily cannot mean winning in overtime. If you are tied after 40 minutes, you didn't win handily regardless of OT margin.
            2. Winning in regulation by less than 10 points is not winning handily.
            3. Saying that Seton Hall won handily means giving them +10 points in regulation.
            4. If it is acceptable to make a statement that acts as though a team scored +10 points in regulation, announcers should be saying that we beat USC, Alabama, and Seton Hall and went to OT with Tulsa.

In the larger scheme of things, nothing about college basketball is a big deal. But outright misrepresentation deserves criticism, whether you call it a big deal, a Biden-style BFD, or whatever. An OT win, much less a home OT win, by definition is not winning handily.

Edit: After seeing Blackmag's observation about the Hall's nice road win, it occurred to me what happened tonight: the Jayboys were so embarrassed, as JH4P might say, about the outcome at Seton Hall that they obviously decided to do the sporting thing and give the Pirates a chance tonight -- oops.

In any case, here's my request for the first weekend in the NCAA: #2 (or, dare I say it, #3?) Kansas against some #15 (or #14), preferably one that doesn't have a B in their name, lest the Chickenhawks go out right away -- especially if it's one of those 3-14 matchups that so bedevil Big 12-2 teams; in the same regional, #7 (or, if necessary, #6) WSU against #10 (or #11) Seton Hall in a 10-year anniversary rematch of the 2006 game between the two.

Who's up for the Shocks in the round of 16?

indeed, it was just a @&$/in lie and I don't know why a shocker fan would deem it journalistically acceptable.

                • You guys are funny. The conspiracy theories are strong recently. 99% chance that it was an announcer who just screwed up. They mess up their stats all the time. Bruce and Craig anyone? Or, how about Scott City, IA?

It was a mistake. Call it incompetence if you like. Trying to build up Seton Hall with lies? Nope.

Thanks for clearing that up for everyone! Are you telling me Fox doesn't pump up their own? Did you see the WSU/SH broadcast? Wake up bro!

I thought Brando and Jackson (the two calling our game vs. SH) were completely fair. Brando is one of my favorites and Jackson did a good job as well. Stop with the conspiracy theories.

                      • For comparison, FOX Sports screwed up this map of England, placing Everton FC (located in Liverpool) closer to where Manchester is.

Agree 100%! That is what the networks pay them to do. Doesn't mean I can't raise the bullsh!t flag when they do tho.

That's right but I recommend you get an automated BS flag raiser if you plan on raising that flag every time you detect BS from these guys.
