That was my point...Mason deflected the pass (after fouling Buddy, and touching the ball in his hands) then a foot landed on the OOB line, then he was the only one to touch the ball. Then he traveled.
Yea definitely a violation, apologies.
I've still got too much adrenaline even after walking back.
Wow. TCU attendance (vs #17 West Virginia) makes the lowest of the low valley team look like a full Arrowhead stadium. Anything further back than the players seats and press row is open. I'm embarrassed for them.
West Virginia ended up winning the game 95-87, in spite of the spirited home crowd dressed as empty seats.
While we're talking officiating, did anyone else notice at the end of the first OT KU put 6 guys on the floor and one ran off right before they inbounded the ball? I was thinking that had to be a violation and tech or something? I saw the one guy run straight off to KU's bench so I rewinded after KU missed the shot (I think it was the Selden 3 miss) and sure enough, 6 players on the floor for quite some time.
Perry Ellis, player of the game??? When a player takes 28 shots to score 27 points I would consider that a victory for the defense.
The player of the game award for that game is meaningless. There was one player that was clearly the best player on the floor last night. Unfortunately, his team lost.

Why would it be a violation if the ball wasn't inbounded yet?

That's why I'm asking-don't you have to check in to enter the game? Or can you just walk on the court, or check in w/o someone checking out? If its not couldn't KU have placed the extra player by their bench to draw the defense over then have them step out of bounds prior to the inbound?

Yes you have to check in. But if the unchecked-in player clears the court before the ball is inbounded there wouldn't be a violation (if it's like soccer).
