I am a fan and root for the Tar Heels when they play. At the beginning of the season UNC was one of my four selections to reach the FF. Given their play as the season has progressed, I am less confident this will happen.

As for the Terps, I have never been a fan of the team or their coach. I am less confident Maryland will make the FF.

Consequently, unlike you, I do not "...feel like its a lock" that UNC and Maryland will be participants in the FF at the conclusion of this season.

This year is a bad year to predict that one of any two teams will make the F4. It is wide open.

I disagree I think are 5-6 teams that are better than most of the rest of the country.

I agree with you. Last year Duke, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and MAYBE Arizona were much better than the rest of the field, at least in my opinion. This year the difference between #1 and #25 is a lot slimmer.

Given your response to the previous poster, are we to interpret your post that you believe "5-6 teams" are elite and as such are likely to be in the FF?

IMO the poster suggesting that the NC is wide open this year is more correct than your position that your unidentified 5-6 teams are likely to win the NC.

How do you define elite? IMO they are one of a number of schools that could win the NC this year.
