WSU vs Hawaii Pacific - Pregame Discussion & Predictions
I have a couple of seats in row 32 of section 124. If anybody has better tickets and just can't stand to sit closer to the court, I'd entertain offers to trade for said tickets...I mean, I'll be there anyway, and I'm always trying to help somebody out. ;)

Ugh with FVV out, that's an automatic deduction of 15 offensive points and increase of 4 defensive. Lol

FVV will indeed be missed today which will give us some extra looks at other guards that we will be grooming for future key minutes. In the meanwhile, our ace in the hole to keep our Shocks moving forward on both sides of the court will be Mr. Wessel. It has been said that Wessel is so tough that he could convert JAWS into a family pet.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
I think I heard Marshall say this game with HPU came about as a favor to Dr. Doug Blackman (a big Shocker supporter) but I did not realize there was such a strong Wichita connection:
Darren Vorderbruegge is starting his sixth season as head coach for HPU. Vorderbruegge is a graduate of local Bethany College and has a masters degree from Wichita State. Before becoming a college coach, Darren won the Wichita City League title as the head coach of Wichita Northwest in 2000.
I went to Curtis Jr High and SoutthEast with Darren. Good luck to him this year.

Come down a few rows and say hi...I'm 124, row 25, 1/2.

Visited with Coach for a bit yesterday. Great guy and thrilled to be back for the game. Almost makes me wish I had attended SE instead of where I did go.
Like the rest of us, I hope he enjoys the moment today.
With Ron at the 1, who starts at the 2? Tough call. I'm going with Shamet over Brown. Let's see what the bright lights do to the wunderkind.
Wessel is easily at the 3 in this scenario (my opinion).
Grady, Kelly, and Morris are fighting for the 4 and 5 right now (I think Bush will be an option later in the season). Grady wraps up one of the two positions based on the play of Kelly and Shaq. For the exhibition, I think Kelly at the 4 and Grady at the five.
I must not be fully aware of just how good Shamet is going to be for us. If he is that high up, that is very cool.
He will be a star for us, if not now, then in the near future. It will be interesting to see where he fits in this year with capabilities of being a 1, 2, or 3. It just so happens that those positions are occupied by a trio of pretty talented seniors. Oh, and then there's Brown, McDuffie, and Frankamp right there too. None the less, Landry should shine above the other underclassmen this year.
