#25 WSU had two voters rank them 13th. This was the highest WSU reached on any ballot. Meanwhile, 32 of 65 voters left them off the ballot altogether.
#17 Arizona also had two voters rank them 13th as the highest ranking Arizona reached on any ballot. Meanwhile, 3 of 65 voters left them off the ballot altogether.
WSU is a really hard team to rank right now.Last edited by Jamar Howard 4 President; February 8, 2016, 03:08 PM.

Question.
If KU was in the MVC or Iowa St or whoever.
Does anyone honestly believe they would go ubdefeated?
If Im honest, I believe they too would easily lose at least 2 games.
Yet we are expected to run the table every year or we are garbage."When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

I like to point this out to people when the topic of "What if WSU played in the Big 12" comes up...as if you take it at face value where you just transport this group of players into playing that tougher schedule and that was it. Who knows what WSU would do this year in the grind of a Big 12 schedule? I think they would be okay, but I am biased. That said, nobody ever talks about how well 3.3G could fare in recruiting battles if he had that to use in his recruiting pitch. If WSU were in the Big 12 in 2013-14, maybe Andrew Wiggins would have come here to play his one year of college basketball.
Look at TCU Football. Maybe those Andy Dalton teams that went to BCS bowls might not have been able to have the same success with a Big 12 schedule. Year 2 for TCU in its new conference was a rough one. However, it is safe to say now that TCU fits very nicely in the Big 12 and will probably be a contender for the foreseeable future...certainly as long as Gary Patterson stays there.
Again, who knows how it turns out this particular season, but if you had a fantasy world of Gregg Marshall and Wichita State in the Big 12, WSU would win a national title within a decade.78-65

The #1 ranked team in the country would go 17-1 more often than 18-0 or 16-2. The same would be true for #10 or even #20. I don't know where the cutoff would fall and 16-2 would become more likely, but the point is, all the top 20+ teams fall in the same category. 18-0 is exceeding expectations. 16-2 is underperforming. 17-1 just helps to verify a wide range from 1-20+. Anyone who tells you KU, or OU, or anyone else would be expected to go 18-0 just doesn't know what they are talking about.
