Wow, maybe we do finally have a little bit of "street cred" after all, since we didn't get completely bounced out. Time to pummel a couple of teams this week!Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss

EDIT: ... they actually have a pretty brutal end to the season
@OU, @ISU, vs WVU, vs Baylor, @KSU, vsOU, vsKU, @OSU
6 of the last 8 are against ranked teams (though some are propped up by Big 12 rankings)

All hail the Big12 I guess....
Like I said, I'm surprised Texas jumped from virtually no ballots to a vast majority, but looking back, it isn't that hard to see how it happened. Doesn't take anything ridiculous by the voters (and I love to criticize them) for something like this to happen.

Really happy we stayed in the polls, and as others have said, it is definitely indicative of strong respect for our brand.
Agreed. At this point in 2012 the Shox were 20-4 and unranked. In 2013, after losing two in a row, 19-4 and unranked, dropping out from #15. Respect for "our brand" has definitely moved up a level or two. The respect is deserved, but it wasn't there just a few years ago.
