We will get some help too. Look at the upcoming schedules in the next 2 weeks for a few teams ahead of us.

Louisville: VS UNC, @Duke, @ND - could very well go 0-3 out of those

Purdue: @Maryland, vs Michigan State, @Michigan. Purdue isn't that good so I could see 0-3 out of those

Oregon: vs Utah, @Cal - could drop to either.

    • If anyone has a legit gripe, it is definitely Utah.

      6-4 vs. Top 50
      5-1 vs. 51-100
      Undefeated vs. dregs

      T-28th in AP Poll. Uhhhhhhh....

That profile gets you a 1 seed in Lawrence.

Which stems from no respect for Evansville. They're a good team and the Shockers took it to them in their own house.

If only we could play Oklahoma State on the road. A 19 point loss to them probably would've made a better statement.

        • Here is KU's profile from 2013-14, when they received a 2 seed and lost to Stanford. Toughest schedule in the country so it didn't matter whether they actually won or lost those tough games.

          10-7 vs. Top 50
          8-3 vs. 51-100
          Undefeated vs. dregs

I mean that is uncannily similar to Utah this year and the two teams could not be further apart in hype.

            Woowwww.

I mean. And I know Utah actually played a non-conference road game.

              Evansville #63 in KenPom
              OSU #64 in KenPom

And kenPom has KU where they belong, as well. Below WSU.

Did the Shocks lose yesterday? I could've sworn they took UE behind the proverbial shed, not lose by nearly 20.

                  I'm confused.

You have to actually lose to pick up a quality loss. Come on SV.

                    ... No really, deuces.

The original poster implied OSU was much worse than Evansville (or at least many people on this board have said as much). I think he was just saying they were similar teams according to KenPom.

That said... we obviously didn't lose by 20. If we had lost by 20, we wouldn't sniff the rankings again this season. There is obviously a double standard, but it isn't that persuasive to act like OSU is one of the worst teams in the country, it's not like KU got beat by 20 by Bradley.

                      • They did lose at home to Missouri State, which is certainly Bradley-esque.

There is a significant counter to this though. If you take out the KU game, OSU's computer numbers get WAY worse. If you take out the 2 WSU games, Evansville's numbers would stay pretty close to what they are. One of the reasons KU keeps racking up 'quality losses' is that in losing, they are handing out RPI and kenPom bumps like candy. What would Evansville's numbers look like if they had won by 20 yesterday? WSU could easily have more games against the Top 100 every year. But they'd have to lose in order to put those teams in the Top 100.

I say win everything. Do that, and at the end everyone else can just suck it.

WSU beats down Evansville in front of their biggest crowd EVER and 'it's the Valley. They don't play anyone.'

KU goes to Stoolwater and gets their doors blown off in a 1/2(maybe?) full gym and 'it's life on the road in the BIG 12!'

Nevermind the fact that they are basically the same quality of team according to KenPom.

What was their kenpom rank before they blew out the "#2 team " in the country?
