AP and Coaches Poll Watch Thread (2015-16 Edition)

I'd guess WSU is in at 25 this week just based on some of the guys ballots that have WSU in it are traditionally pretty hard on the Shockers.

Duke fell out .... of the Top 10 to 12 with their quality losses to Clemson and Notre Dame (both unranked)

Noticed in the Coach's poll that #10 Michigan St and #19 Kentucky each still got at least 1 first place vote. There is a time some deserve to be kicked square in the grapes.

And that's why the coaches poll is garbage. Only one publication even uses it anymore and that's its sponsor, USA Today.

That can't really be what that means, right? In the 1st place votes column, they each have a zero. I figured the hi/low column was how high and low they've been ranked throughout the year. If it seriously means someone ranked them number one, that's terrible. Same with NR for Xavier. I think it has to be throughout the season, not voters this week.

Three teams that were above them fell below. UK was 14, but fell too. 15, 16, and 18 all jumped over them. 17 fell. Baylor jumped up 9 spots to tie them. Just a poll mechanics oddity.

Virginia was #13 last week.

Every team from the 14-20 range that went undefeated last week passed them in today's poll. 3 teams from the 8-12 range had worse weeks than Virginia and fell even further than Virginia.

Add it all up, and Virginia's rank remained unchanged. Tons of movement from last week to this week, both up and down, so a team like Virginia with a mediocre week ended up staying put.
