  • 7 votes this week.

Lots of teams with 3 and 4 losses in front of us. Not long from now, some folks might begin to wonder, "so, what's their excuse?"

Still not sure why MSU is #4. They have a win over the supposed #1 team on a neutral court, and their 1 loss was on the road without their best player.

Find the 2024-25 NCAAM rankings on ESPN, including the Coaches and AP poll for the top 25 NCAAM teams.

    • It's hilarious to see SMU in the top 10 for the AP and not receiving votes in the coaches poll since they're ineligible.

      • At the end of the year, I think we're all going to be left wondering by how many points that SMU team would lose to the '91 UNLV squad. Maybe one of their fans will come back to tell us.

Then again, maybe not. Might be a little preoccupied with the whole 'our team is actually crappy, and we fired our coach in January' ...thing.

        • Can someone direct me to where the Creighton votes are? After a torrid start in the nation's strongest conference, I'm wondering how they haven't crafted a single vote. No more name recognition? What gives?

          • They are a cautionary tale.

            Don't lose to Loyola.

            • Chuck McGill(20) and Jon Wilner(25) are the two AP voters for WSU this week.

They have been in the WSU fan club for a couple of years now, usually giving us BCS-like treatment---looking for a reason to include us on their ballot, not a reason to drop us.

              • Of the teams ranked 21 through the end of receiving votes, how many of them would the Shockers be favored over by Vegas on a neutral court:
Gonzaga Baylor Butler Purdue Indiana Connecticut Oregon , USC , UCLA , George Washington, California , Houston , Dayton, Valparaiso, Texas Tech , Washington, Arkansas-Little Rock , Cincinnati , Saint Mary's, Utah , Hawaii , Boise State

I would contend virtually all of them.

IMO no "virtually"; the Shocker would be favored over all of them

                    • Here's a piece on NCAA.com that uses Pomeroy (and the ol' "eye test") to rank the top nine conferences. The MVC is ninth.

Kudos to CBS for pulling Duke and Kentucky out of the rankings.

Gary Parrish definitely has let his **** hang with that poll. Surprised he put the Shockers back in this early. I thought we would have to wait until February before any poll put the Shockers back into the Top 25.

Parrish has seen the Shox play in person and I think that plays into his rankings. Seeing this team in person makes a difference.
