Edit: For what it's worth, the latest Warren Nolan RPI rankings show WSU at 45th, the BJs 136th. Meanwhile, the mighty Huskers are 178th (so that would have been a bad loss had Creighton slipped up), actually a few notches behind Jake White and UN-Omaha at 162nd. (Apparently Jake's Mavericks are somewhat entertaining, too, averaging almost 88 points per game while giving up almost 87.)
*"semi-Big" as in, the Big East isn't as big as it used to be. These days it's more like the Mid-sized East, although of course I wouldn't dare call it Mid-Major.
Edit #2: One other interesting item that caught my eye when I was checking Nebraska's RPI rank: Warren Nolan has Maryland ranked 57th (!) right now. No doubt that will change as they play a Big 10/14 schedule, assuming they play more or less as expected, but I thought that was startlingly low (at least until I saw Maryland's schedule so far, which has been VERY modest -- looks like MT has picked up where Gary Williams left off). It also looks as though the Big 10/14 may not be as much help as one might expect in terms of RPI: at least right now, there are only three top 50 teams in the league. Who'd have thunk it?Last edited by WSUwatcher; December 14, 2015, 06:25 PM.

A comment was made by either the writer or Mark that had a power team had the four consecutive road wins that WSU had, that team would be #1 in the country...no questions asked. To the contrary, had Wichita State lost to Oral Roberts at home (which KU did early in the season), the Shockers wouldn't have been in the Top 100.
Say what you might about polls from the Turgeon era, but right now, WSU seems to be getting quite a bit of respect.

Taken together, the only reason ... the only reason I would have to listen to a single word he has to say on sports is because he is employed by a major media company. Given how oversaturated the sports media market is, that reason reduces to zero.
