    • We're really gonna find out how desperate Muller is in the coming weeks. Just you wait.

And what a shining example he's gonna make. Hail Jailbird U.

      ... No really, deuces.

Between that and this, definitely the two clubhouse leaders for best post in that thread:

        • I really feel like Muller needs to go reexamine his approach.

You can be that crappy with low-risk guys.

"Second" chance? Hawkins already had two cases pending in County Court. He was a no show at the hearing for one of them. The other hasn't hit that stage yet. The missed court date is supposedly what got his license suspended.

I don't think they suspend licenses for speeding tickets or parking violations. Leads one to think this is Teddy's second DUI while waiting for sentencing on the first.

Man...this poor young man. Hope he gets it together after college. All fun to poke at him (moreso Mueller and ISU Blue) but geez...grow up young man! Get some help and a positive mentor! Dude...

                • During Hawkins' recruitment I seem to recall his focus and motivation being questioned. It seems that it in five years it isn't much better. I'm thankful it didn't work out with WSU.

                    • I actually wish some of the bj fans would have gotten their wish and Teddy would have followed Andre Yates to bjville. I'd enjoy watching that meltdown as he tore down Bugaha.

For them it is. It's all relative. Also the seriousness of the crime has and inverse realtionship to the talent of the player.

I think it is safe to say this will not have a major impact on the Illinois State team this year.

Yep. Some of them don't even think a punishment is necessary. Hawkins has a rap sheet a mile long. No big deal in AbNormal though. As long as you play basketball, it's free reign.

What a proud university and fan base to be apart of. Well hell, if the fans don't care what anyone does, then who cares about the PR anyways? Just give the criminals a quick pep talk and get em back out on the floor.

Man, it's amazing how low people go and think (coaching staff included) when sucky programs do ANYTHING to try and be relevant. Every Jailbird fan should be proud.

I thought that reasoning was odd too. To me the DUI is the less "punishable" offense (for a 1st time offense). Don't get me wrong, the potential impact of a DUI is way worse than a stolen phone. The difference to me is the fact that a DUI is more of a "lapse of judgement". Its the thought of "I think I'm ok to drive, its not going to hurt anyone, I'll be fine". When you steal a phone/wallet/whatever, you are 100% sure you are going to be causing harm to that person yet you still do it. The first is a lapse of judgement that should be punished but not nearly as severely as the second. The second shows a major character flaw that should be punished harshly up to the point of being dismissed. That's an intentional infliction of damage to someone else.

Now if the DUI is a repeat offender, it shows the lack of willingness to learn from the "lapses in judgement" and the punishment should grow exponentially.

                              • One of Hawkins' outstanding violations is "improper lane usage". Now, some may think that sounds minor, or even basketball related. But I have it on questionable authority that he sacrificed a sheep on the highway, right after having his way with it.
