This might be a factor. Four top 100 recruits in the A&M class of 2015.

    Speculation only.

Edit: My bad. I just noticed that the link is for an Insider story.

Makes him look like a shooter and not a defender (steals) or a floor leader (assists).

We can use a good shooter from that position, but if he wants the PT, he will need to step up his defense and floor leadership.

Why are we comparing a shooting guard to a point guard?

edit: although now that I think about it, I remember another guy with Texas-Illinois connections (they just went the other direction, a Texan playing at Illinois) who did even less as a freshman and ended up being a pretty good Shocker after transferring in -- Kyle Wilson.

I don't know TAMU's total roster but they have four former top 100 players at the sg and sf spots. D.J Hogg (ranked 38th) and Admon Gilder (65th) are incoming freshman. Returning are Alex Caruso and Danuel House.

Then there was this player named Baker that the big boys disregarded that had few if any stars by his name that will be an All-American this Season here at 21st and Hillside. This is an unfinished story that reminds me some of Steve Kerr way-back when. Makes a person think that our Coaching Staff made a solid move in signing Peyton Allen?

They knew Baker was very good but with Toure' and Kyles still playing, they so chose to have Baker wait a Season and learn our System, just like Allen will get to do. We go as deep as 10 starters at least on our team now so all will be finer than a frog-hair. From watching Shamet and McDuffie play, they indeed will be very very good. It took the end of FVV's Freshman Season to really crack the rotation into quality minutes. That goes to show just how deep we go with quality players "another shocker".

I'm sure those guys are going to be good. But Baker is/was fearless and extra competitive. He would have competed with or above anyone. If Shamet, McDuffie, or Allen are as fearless and competitive as Baker, the Shockers will continue as they are, and those players, will become All Americans too.

                                perhaps.

but shamet, mcduffie and brown are going to be quite a load.
