"Allen averaged 4.8 points per game and shot 38 percent from the field in his lone season in the SEC. At the Missouri Valley Conference level, Allen should find more success creating his own shot and he’s also a better shooter than his 32 percent 3-point percentage indicates."

Another diss on our conference... Is the MVC really that far below the silly SEC? I really don't think so...

Anyway, I sure didn't know about this kid at all. Could be a pretty nice addition for next year.

At the wichita state level, he will have an even tougher time earning minutes against a much better roster and he will play for titles.

They need to remember that he just went from scholarship to walk on. That says something entirely different than "stepping down a level"

The SEC basketball conference is trash outside of Kentucky. At least they have been for several years since Florida had their mini run.

Good luck, Peyton, and welcome aboard.

My guess is that Allen fully realizes that he hasn't stepped down in any way. Maybe most of the Valley is weaker than most of the SEC (be honest: look at the RPIs, and don't forget to avert your eyes when you get to the bottom of last year's MVC, which was pretty frightful). But that's like saying that one of Gonzaga's many transfers will find life easier at the WCC level. This isn't the Valley we're talking about; this is WSU -- and Stalwart was right that Allen's biggest battle at The WSU Level may be earning the PT he's hoping to get. If he does, and guys like Shamet and McDuffie have lived up to expectations (not to mention Zach Brown), he'll have to be a very good player indeed, and a fine addition.

I think it's a little early to pencil him in as a bench warmer. Someone on Redbirdfan stated; "he starts day one for every team not named Wichita State." My guess is that he sees lots of minutes over his career.

We've got some really good players that can play the 1,2,3 positions. From what I've watched, I don't see him being a point guard, although he does handle the ball pretty well. That being said, I do think he is going to be another really good player at the 2/3 spots, and will compete for minutes, which makes all of them better.

I can see why some of the other Illinois MVC schools would roll their eyes at WSU getting him. They probably had a lot of hope that their location would really help them land him and then he goes for the team they literally hate the most.

It's probably kind of like if Frankamp went to Creighton or something.
