I don't actually see those as unrealistic expectations. Texas is the one school in college athletics that should have the highest expectations about everything. NCAA tourney every year not being good enough is unreasonable at Evansville. At Texas, that should go without saying.

If you want "realistic" expectations, don't take one of the highest salaries in the sport and then consistently fail to perform like a top coach.

The part that gets me is that Texas cared so little about basketball that it took 17 years.

      2) Will Kunkle probably has a 2-year contract. So unless he really screws up big time they can't just fire him just because a few viewers don't want to watch him. Local viewers hate everyone on the air in Wichita. People even hated the legendary Larry Hatteberg for some odd reason.

Luckily for us though, TV Sweeps are starting soon. April 23 - May 20, to be exact. So if you really want this campaign to kick off with a bang, don't watch CBS at all during those dates. And let KWCH know why with numerous emails and calls and tweets.

Will has a major ego problem. He apparently thinks that being an Intern at ESPN makes him big time and allows him to say whatever he wants. That just isn't the case for a local sports reporter.
Actually, if you really want the station's attention record the show. Call, email and write every business owner that runs ads during (I wager they will almost all be local) and tell them you will boycott THEIR business until a) they stop advertising on it or b) Kunkle is off the show. If they can't sell ads they'll make changes or show CSI reruns.

Yes, that would probably work. But why punish someone like Jabara's Carpet Outlet (HUGE WSU backers) because KWCH hired a pompous ass?

Because they, not we, have the dollars that influence decisions, like retaining said pompous ass and/or hiring another one.

In theory Jabara's would act and it wouldn't come to that.

I made the mistake of watching Kunkel and Parsons last night. I will never watch that show again as long as those two are on it. They couldn't seem to understand how we were able to land Gregg Marshall in the first place and they were drooling over Texas. I think both of them should do us all a favor and move to Texas.

I was very glad I listened to Bruce for 2 hours his morning. His take was much more reasonable. He had a guest on that he called his insider from Texas (his name was Wallace) that confirmed that basketball will never be that big a deal at Texas. Mr. Wallace was in Wichita from 90 to 95 and he said that the roundhouse rocked better back then during those very bad losing years than Texas does now except for a couple big games a year (he specifically mentioned Kansas). He said basketball in Texas is just something you do to kill time between fall football and spring football.

That just doesn't sound like the kind of job that would appeal to Gregg Marshall. Bruce also stated that he believed Coach Marshall could win a national championship at WSU. Something I believe is possible too.

We need to get Bob Hull to have his wife change Ron Burg...., er I mean Will Kunkle's teleprompter with the closing line "Go f??k yourself Wichita"? No doubt he would say it before realizing what he said since that is what he is thinking anyway.

That would be an ultimate life imitating art moment.

I think this sums up our feelings on Will Kunkell perfectly. (And Jeffrey Parson too for that matter).

Shame on you guys. You're going to get this kid fired. KWCH is smart enough to know that it's not just you who dislike him, but everyone else you're brainwashing about Will the Thrill. Word of mouth criticism is going to spread like wild fire and soon enough, the top dogs at KWCH will be bringing Will into their office.

Give the cat a chance, let him assimilate to Wichita. I guarantee you he will turn from the dark side. Take a chance on an unknown kid.

Like you said. The ball is in his court. We won't get him fired. He will. It's simple as far as what he needs to do is concerned and this really shouldn't be an issue in the first place.

Warning shots were already fired. He kept advancing.

Then he retreated. Then he regrouped and advanced again. He has been given a second chance and he used it to make a second charge. Now, this is one revolution that will not be televised! #FireWillKunkell

Ann example of someone who got fired for something similar

When the fall 2014 basketball season, Emerson Biggins on Maize Road reinstituted their party bus to take customers to the WSU games. For the 1st game, a large crowd of WSU fans gathered there to take the party bus to the game. Around an hour before the game was due to start, the WSU fans trekked out to the bus only it turned out there were enough fans for 2 buses, but only one bus had been reserved. Meanwhile, the new Mgr at EB turned most of the TV's to the KU game even though there were an approx. equal number of KU and WSU fans there at the moment. Even the KU fans wondered why he did that. Such a hue & cry resulted from that move that the new Manager was fired immediately. I was not there personally as we were out of town at the time, but I later confirmed it happened with one of the waitresses there because we were concerned about the party bus being reliable for future games.
