  • If we're talking possible Sunrise recruits...

Dainan Swoope and Radshad Davis both played fairly well for MoKan Elite this spring.

His recruiting list is still solid. Not much agreement on it among the various sites. De-committed from Washington in October, 2014. Reclassified to 2016 to take a prep year at Sunrise.
He sure looked in the video I saw. He did show some dropping on 247. It is kind of a mystery of why. In the video I saw, he moved real well in the open court for a 6'7 guard. He definitely is not a stiff.

      • was he the coach at sunrise or recruiter or assistant?

if so hopefully someone equally as equipped takes his role and continues the excellent path sunrise has taken lately

        • One of Marshall's many skills, and one of his most useful, has been picking and hiring outstanding assistants. No reason to assume he isn't on track here just as on any number of occasions in the past. As many excellent players as Sunrise has had, including many from overseas, you have to believe Lindsted knows something about judging and bringing in talent.

            • So hire him, Art -- reports are that he's looking for a job.

Surely you have something he could do.

              • Do you not understand the overall effect of bringing Jans back, would do to the present staff?
Coach Heiar was recently promoted to Lead Asst. Coach. His value to Marshall has changed greatly since Jans left.
Two years ago Forbes was brought in as Heiar's Senior. Marshall would have lost him, if for the second time he had brought in Jans over him.
And certainly Jans would not be able to preform as Heiar's junior.
This was a great move by Marshall.

I would like to hear more about your theories about why the timing is interesting. It may have been that he hadn't made a decision until now.

                    • I am surprised. Really thought CJ would be back on the bench. I suspect he will still be somewhere close to the program.

Having said that I have no problem with the hire. Lots of contacts and lots of success. Should be a good fit. Welcome Coach Lindsted. (2 D's)

                      • Kyle can really recruit and will be a solid influence with our squad. I must admit that I did not see this coming. One of the reasons 3G is such a success at this level is the awesome Assistants he surrounds himself with as already noted above. I like all of the new contacts in recruiting that Kyle will add to our Program. He has seen lots of young potential recruits play and probably knows them and their Coaches already. I like it that he will add an International touch that could come in quite handy.

Who knows what may open up next Season? Greg Heiar could very well get his chance to become a head Coach in a few years? In my opinion, he is That good and a Program may recognize that. In the meanwhile--the roof--the roof. Greg Heiar is one of the very best recruiters in the Country and can move the X and O's and will assist in the remodeling and make-overs of the roof here at 21st and Hillside.

He certainly has international connections but also has done well at getting very good players from the region.

The import/export business here in Kansas isn't what it used to be. I don't have the current resources to hire a man of Jans' talent.
