No one will be talking about their future with the team until Marshall announces that he is staying. If I was a player that didn't see the court in post season, I would be concerned about my scholarship being renewed. I wouldn't be surprised to see Marshall's staff looking in on elite level centers and JUCO PGs.

Most players at his height have some uncanny quality that makes an NBA team give them a shot; unbelievable vertical, incredible shooting, etc. I think of Patty Mills, who is crazy fast, as the best example of what FVV can do. I'm just not sure his abilities (which he DEFINITELY has!) shine through enough to have teams give him a shot. With that in mind, his best bet is to stay another year and test the waters after that. Personally, I like him as a potential coaching legend.
Does anybody think that Frankamp is a point guard?

My impression, which is far from fact, is that Frankamp is an off the ball spot up shooter. So, if he became a point guard I wonder if it would hinder his shooting production.

I think Frankamp can run some point.

I think running practice squad point guard means he can run the point. Didn't they say they planned on using Frankamp as a DJ Balentine'esque practice member to help prep for players like that?

IIRC, Frankamp ran the point lthe last part of his Freshman season, and it had a settling effect on the team. Bringing in the freshman PG and Bill telling him he wouldn't start (I presume @ PG) was probably his biggest reason for leaving.

Plus he'll have had a year to refine those skills.

One thing is obvious...our underclass scholly guards didn't cut it.

If CF had never had an association with KU, and he had said during his freshman yr at North that he was leaning toward Wichita St., everyone on this board would be speaking differently here. We'd be talking about his HS stats, his work ethic, his representing the U.S. on a national team (and, I believe his being the leading scorer on that team), there wouldn't be any of this ..."well, just because he came from KU doesn't mean he's goons be any good" crap. The kid was a star recruit out of HS. Maybe he just didn't fit the KU system. Just give it the time it deserves, and make your judgement next November. I, for one, think he's going to bring some nice additional offensive threats to a pretty damn good offensive threatening team.

I don't think anyone on the thread today was talking negative about CF and KU. The thread Was speculating whether he could play PG, and I think he'd be a good one.

Probably better than CH. He's currently buried @ the end of the bench because he was a shoot-first PG. I don't know why R'ian got lost at the end of the bench, I don't think anyone saw him as anything other than a SG. Probably the log jam at that position, but I didn't see him even getting mop-up minutes late.

Well that kind of came out of left field.

Yeah, I went back and read it, and everyone is being positive about CF. We're all talking about him having the ability to play the point, the only post that could possibly be seen as negative is the one that just questions if him going to PG would hinder his offensive scoring production as a shooter. Which is hardly negative at all if you ask me. Totally out of left field.

Also I think it came from some of the sentiments in the CF transfer speculation thread.

Thanks Wufan, that was the post I was referencing. I'm on my mobile and don't know how to quote other posts. I wasn't trying to be negative, just that some on here have it in for CF just because of the KU connection.

Yes. IMO he's the PG of the future. I watched him in high school and he is absolutely not a spot up shooter. Bill Self misused him. At North he flourished with the ball in his hands. He could create his own shot and actually surprised me how well he distributed the ball even to less heralded teammates.

He played so little at KU (admittedly, he did seem to play pretty well while he was in) that I don't think anyone is psyched about him just because he came from KU. I think most people expect him to be an incredible player because he was a top-40 recruit out of high school and many on here were very familiar with how great he was in high school.
