This entitlement we see with extraordinarily talented youth (sports, music, academics, etc...). How are they wired that they think on a whim they can behave in such a manner. As a nation our expectations of behavior, poise and respect must be so low to accept this behavior. He apparently issued an apology to Frank, but what about an apology to the rest of the world for demonstrating such an embarrassing moment. What will be his punishment? A hundred million dollar NBA contract probably. He is guaranteed not to return to college. NBA teams won't even blink at this when draft day arrives. Congrats Mr.Harrison. Our misguided society is just about to reward you for your preparation.

Just my two cents and I wouldn't be surprised if it was changed.
What say you @ShockRef:
I have no explanation why the Lyles slap to the jaw was not ruled an F1. It appeared to be a no-brainer.
That is all.Above all, make the right call.

What's sad, and problematic, is how so much of our society has been trained to react to this. I'll be honest, I was a LITTLE busy yesterday, but I was certainly paying attention to all media and following sports as I always do. Even after reading about this a couple of places, I still have yet to see anything on television about it. I'm not saying it hasn't been there, but if you don't think it would be on every news show 24/7 and the lead into every sports show were Frank black and Andrew white, then you've been sniffing glue for the last 20-30 years. We've been trained, and more importantly, we've TRAINED certain minority classes to expect certain reactions etc to real or perceived injustices and now it's just expected. So sad, for EVERYONE.

I agree its a little alarming to me that the media has not picked up on this more, definitely a double standard. It will be interesting to see if the M-F national talk shows will discuss it today.
I'm also curious if its been discussed anywhere, at the end of the game it appeared to me several Kentucky players went straight off the floor to the tunnel, whereas the Wisconsin coach corralled his guys from celebrating and told them to get in line to shake hands. Of course the TV cut to commercial so we didn't see, but has any media talked about whether the Kentucky players went through the line?
To me it just reinforces what class acts we have here at WSU and it sure makes it easy to root for them. I'm sure they were disappointed last year when their perfect season ended but they still congratulated UK and talked at length in the line. I've seen FVV be very gracious in defeat to the opposing players.

On XM91 this morning just before 8:00, a caller asked about it. The initial reaction from the hosts (Bobby Cremins and somebody I don't remember who it was) wsas that it was shameful, but after a brief discussion said that it may have been influenced by the celebration at midcourt by Wisky and some UK players may have believed that there would be no handshake line."I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Look, I'm all for giving people a pass for emotional responses. We all have them, and if we don't then I kind of feel bad. You should be emotional.
He apologized, and probably as important or even more important, Frank accepted it and said it's a non-issue, move on.
Good solid responses by both kids.
The problem, I believe, is in expectations. When we can be at a place where we have the same expectations for everyone, then we'll be making headway.
As long as the expectations are different for different people, we're not going to be in a good place.

Just trying to get inside the head of a UK player right now. It sounds pretty bad doesn't it?
