It wasn't a smart pick, and them winning doesn't mean they should've made it. Unless you'd argue that we should've been a 1 seed in 2013 since we beat Gonzaga, or a 12 seed in 2012 since we lost to one. Same logic.

But, props to them for stepping up and winning. When all you hear all week is that you shouldn't be there, it surely gives you a little edge. And seeing Larry Brown go down doesn't make me sad.

I still do. If it were not for auto bids, a couple of other winners today would not be playing. This is not validation, it is simply that there is a lot of parity among a large group of teams. Personally, Boise State or Dayton should have been playing SMU today and either could have just as easily beat SMU.
