    One of my long-term hopes for the MVC is that it gets consistently good enough that I'll root against our rivals in the tournament because we don't have anything to prove. We're not there yet. It's much more fun to be able to root against teams regardless of circumstance. My other team is Georgetown and back in the heyday of the Big East I never rooted for Syracuse or UConn or anyone else in the tournament because everyone knew the conference was solid. These days I have to root for Butler and Providence and even Nova so that the conference's rep gets built back up. I don't like doing that.

      • Like I told my redbird friend when they were playing uni in the mvc tourney championship:
        I would like 3 mvc teams in the NCAA tournament so I'm not rooting for Ill state but I'm not rooting against them either.
        I just want to stand on land...

        @rjl:
        If I had a gun with two bullets and was in a room with Hitler, Bin Laden, and a Creighton fan, I think I'd shoot the Creighton fan twice.

            • Underdogs are 16-4 vs the spread this year so far you could have made a lot of jack betting on every one would be plus 12 right now.

              First Four - Dogs were 4-0
              Yesterday - Dogs were 12-4 with only Xavier, Georgetown, Villanova and Utah covering and Utah covered by 1/2 point.

                Wasn't Texas favored vs Buter?

                    Horrible, but that could benefit us. KU could get a false sense of security...

                    KU must have 100 points off turnovers. That won't happen if we are playing on Sunday.

                      UNI making it look like a routine Valley game.

                        Does anyone else?
                        They may not have called it, but if the ball was in the cylinder they should call it goaltending. So the real questions are 1) was the ball in the cylinder and 2) was the ball touched while in the cylinder. If the answer to both questions is yes then the goaltending call was good.

                        What they hypothetical may have or have not called in different circumstances is not really dispositive is it?

                        • I'd root for any Valley team in the Dance other than the Douchebirds.

                            Wouldn't that be living down to the 15 seed they were assigned?

                                Right on the "scared" point, but very uninformed on the relative circumstances of our two programs. We don't "ride the bus" to the game while KU flies, as he said.
