“Shocker Maniacs is a part of the Athletic Department, which gives students access to a lot of different things such as meet and greets with players and coaches and the chance to attend exclusive watch parties,” Shocker Maniacs President Caroline King said.
To become a Maniac, applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student at WSU. Download the Shocker Maniacs application, available on both iPhones or Android, and check in at each attended sporting event. King said checking in earns points, which will enter students into drawings for prizes.
Perhaps they should require students to be a member of Shocker Maniacs to get a ticket and the utilize the Shocker Maniacs app to issue tickets and track usage.

But if you would require membership in Shocker Maniacs to get a men's basketball ticket perhaps you could get this organization jump started. Also require a certain amount of points from VB, WBB, SB and BB games to maintain membership. Something modest. Maybe 10 points per year.
Communication with the Club members should be farely easy with the App, Facebook and Twitter.
Maybe this is an old idea that is dying a slow death from lack of interest. I don't really know.

'Originally posted by 1972Shocker View PostAre there really more residents living on campus now? Or is it that it is just that Shocker Hall is just more conventiently located to Koch Arena than WheatShocker Apartmernts were. I don't think Shocker Hall really gained any on campus beds though. More or less just replaced what was lost in WheatShocker and Brennan Hall and the downsizing of Fairmount Towers.
Could be because of the convenience more of these students are picking up tickets hoping to sell them and they all aren't getting that done.

I believe that Shocker Hall is at full capacity at about 775 students. The capacity for Fairmount Towers is 600. If the occupancy of Fairmount Towers is 60% or more there would be slightly more students living on campus now. If Fairmount Towers is near 100% there would be approximately 300 more students living on campus.ShockerNet is a rat infested cess pool.

So at most they picked up 75 residents at 100% occupancy. WheatShocker was listed at occupanyc of 591 and Fairmount Towers at 600. So prior to Shocker Hall they technically had capacity of around 1,200 plus whatever the capacity of Brennan Hall was. However, they obviously were not at full capacity if they housed 1,100 residents. However, we gained very little in the way of new on-campus residents although I'm sure the ones we have are much happier with their current accomodations.
WSU has issued an RFQ for a second student housing project two-years ahead of the initial master plan timeline.

I think the Shocker Maniacs could be useful if organized. I couldn't find the brochure at goshockers.com - the link on the site just goes directly to the Facebook page for the group. The only way I found the brochure other than here was when I googled shocker maniacs and it came up there. I figured it was out-of-date though with the Blockbuster and Saturn of Wichita references, so it'd be interesting to see if there's a newer one and if they still gave away scholarships.
But I think the following could be done easily and effectively:
Reserve the first 5 rows in the student section for them and only students wearing the Shocker Maniac t-shirt can sit there. On the back of the t-shirts print common chants to use during the game as a cheat sheet and give those in the first row handouts instead. Finally, if anyone embarasses the university on tv, such as making any obscene hand gestures, boot them out of the group.
