The pickup method may change but I guarantee you at least 200 less seats will be available for the students next year and instead will be sold for 250.00 to 300.00 apiece. Opening up these tickets will also generate more SASO revenue. That's what makes the athletic department go round.
This is an epidemic everywhere on campuses. Not sure why, but we can't sit around and hypothesize while money is left on the table.

Sounds like Wichita St. needs to do away with student tickets altogether. Maybe for a couple years at least. The demand for tickets is strong in Wichita by evidence of continuous sell-outs. But if the students are all none to interested...the university would do better making those sections available to the buying public. Sucks to have to do that to the students...but if that section could be full of actual paying season ticket holders...might as well take the money. Maybe after a couple years...a younger/different student body will come around and they can open it back up again.FINAL FOURS:

But, if we are going to discuss Duke, let's mention that they yank unoccupied seats from students (as many as 75% of the total allotment over holiday break) and sell them to the public at $65 a pop. That is the future, and perhaps the immediate one.

I'm sure Mr. and Mrs. old WSU fan who never stand will be more than happy to keep paying their SASO contribution even if they're moved over 2 sections.

Start charging the students general admission prices that are refunded back to the students account when the student uses the ticket. The student gets charged full admission price for the guest pass which is also refunded at half-price when the ticket is used. Or something similar to this.
