I thought Mark did a very nice job on the WSU-UNI game. Giving both programs, coaches and individual players plenty of love. I like him so much better with Hollenberg or even Heartl than I do with Holtus.
Actually, Mark is a pretty sharp dude. He found a need outside the P-5 conferences and he is doing a nice job filling that need and probably making a pretty decent living doing something he loves which means he doesn't have a job. Lucky bastard!Comment

From the FSU/football perspective, Adams is a lot like Danny Kannell. Kannell's basically employed by ESPN to troll SEC fans, since it seems like 90% of the other ESPN analysts are there to publicly felate the SEC.Originally posted by Play Angry View Post

ESPN has a two-pronged analytical strategy that basically amounts to: tear you down to make you angry, tell you you're pretty to make you happy. And they will employ people to do both of those things at the same time. Some people watch because they're told they're pretty, some people watch because they're so angry you're calling them ugly -- which seems insane, but they do it. And the more people they have watching, the more people they're going to employ to do both of those things. Ultimately we don't have as many people, so they have a lot more guys who's job is to tell everyone else we're ugly so that they can simultaneously tell the fans of the "big conference" teams, who out number us, that they're prettier in comparison. And then they'll find someone else to come on and tell them that they're ugly, too.
When everyone is biased, absolutely, we have to have someone out there that's going to be biased in our favor. But I'd prefer if we just had less bias and more intelligent debate in general.
Given that we're saddled with the rest of the biased talking heads, I like that we have Adams to tell us we're pretty too.
