Is there any reason that you're questioning schedule strength and that you also happen to be from Lawrence?

Yeah, that's the obvious miss in my comment. I was looking so hard for some front court depth past the Fr class, that I didn't consider the current Fr class. I should have noted that.

I thought they DID call a few (maybe quite a few) TICKY-TACK fouls early. I'm gonna re-watch again tonight and see if my eyes were wrong on the first go around. Whistles put guys on benches damn-it. Not trying to take any credit away from UNI as they played top-notch and impressed the hell outta me. But it waaasssas SATURDAY in the MISSOURI VALLEY......

Also depends on how you want to handle a situation like Orupke. Recruited to come as a Freshman but troubles getting his grades out of Nigeria forced him to go Juco. Derail Green mostly played the 4 although he might not have ended up there long term. That's probably why he didn't last. Aaron Ellis was a legit Freshman post that Marshall brought in.

                • Good grief. It's one game. On the road. Against a ranked opponent. Did we think we were going to go undefeated in conference two seasons in row? Really? When was the last time a team did that?

Move on. This is a pretty darn good meal we're eating right now.

                  • Shaq is pretty good as an inside defender and shot blocker, not as a defender of the 3 ball and dribble and drive.

is there a reason that you have to nit pick at everything thats some one posts? Seems like youre trying to get some **** started.

                      • I thought Ekllis was a 3-year guy. He was a 4-year player.

HS recruits at either the 4 or 5 (not including this year's true Fr class): Durley, Stutz, Ellis, White, and Morris. The reliance on JuCo's caught us this year.

I post what I'm feeling. Your posts about asking have we ever beaten ranked teams was an intriguing one, if not, dare I say, "picky" one? The fact that you're from Lawrence was kinda like icing on the cake.

It may have an innocent and stupid thought. Or it may have been a loaded one. I can't tell for sure. But in reality, it's hard to beat ranked opponents. It's even harder beating ranked opponents on the road. Especially when we are being gunned after and teams are trying to stop historic streaks that we are generating. Ever think about that?

Maybe you shouldn't be so nitpicky about our losses, which have been hard to come by over the last, I dunno, 5 years.

                          • In a way I agree with CBB_Fan, in a way I don't. I also feel like this team is just not good enough to get it done against the better teams in the nation. It's great that the Shox hung with Utah and GW, and that they beat Alabama, Seton Hall, Tulsa. Not saying none of those are quality teams, because they are, but even those teams I don't feel are in the same league as teams like Kentucky, Duke, Arizona. I do think this could be a short postseason for the Shox, depending on the draw.. or it could be a long one, all depending on the draw and which team shows up to play.

I knew this game would be tough, and I think the return game will be tough as well. Winnable, sure, but it'll take a heck of a lot better effort. I'm not fretting over this 1 loss, as I predicted the Shox would probably lose 3-4 MVC games this season anyways. Time for the guys to refocus, put the events of the last week behind them, and start getting ready for the rest of the season.

For the record, I didn't see the game today, I was out of town, so no comments on the officials from me.. but I do gotta say I love the constant meltdowns and petty arguments on these boards. What's sad is they are generally started by 1 or 2 people. Ah well, such is life

I think our best basketball is still ahead of us...no bad losses... Some keep wanting to compare this years team with last years... Lets go back any year prior to last season and everyone would need more then happy with our current record,. As this years nfl mvp says... "r-e-l-a-x... RELAX,."

This. We lost one game after winning THIRTY in a row. We still have one of the best back courts in the country. And 3G has a knack for getting his teams to turn it on in the post season in odd numbered years.
