Fun fact- we're currently allowing just 56.0 ppg on defense, second best in school history (trailing only the 1948-49 team's mark of 51.6 ppg) and eighth best in the country.

Our last three games have featured 56, 56 and 53 possessions per KenPom. UNI plays even slower than we do, averaging ~3 less possession per game (good for the 349th quickest pace in the country, ahead of only Virginia and American).

    This will be a grind.

      Comparison from StatSheet

"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

I would have felt a ton better about this game if we had continued our run of high level play but that game to an abrupt halt last night with a very uneven performance against an over-matched Loyola team. Add to that the uncertainty about Darius Carter's back and I get real nervous about this game.

OTOH, last night did show that the Shocks defense can carry them at times. UNI is a strong defensive team as well. I expect this one to go the full 15 rounds, maybe more, with the winner be determined by a very close decision of the basketball gods.

I see a low scoring game, with maybe the first one to 60 winning. Wouldn't be surprised if there are lead changes throughout the game, but would rather see WSU get a lead and hold onto it. Going to be tough to beat them at home and even tougher if Darius still has back issues - the crowd may rattle the freshman if the game is close. Our frontcourt will have to be at a MVP level - I'm picking the Shox to win 60-58.

I expect I'll be yelling at the TV about a flop more than once...

            Shockers - 62
            Panters - 55

Without DC healthy, Tuttle is going to school our less experienced post players. It will require us to sag to provide support and they'll be open for 3's. If DC can get his season average we win by 7. If he plays less than that we'll lose by 9.

This is a public service announcement: When posting about another school, PLEASE get their abbreviation right to help keep yourself from looking like a fool. It's UNI, not NIU. The UNI is in their logo, right there for all to see. Also, don't look dumb and predict a double digit win at Northern Iowa or anything like that. Be smart.

                /end rant/

This is going to be a hell of a game.

So a 9 point WSU win is ok to predict, but not a 10 point?
                    You're a funny dude.
                    Were you born in Iowa?

I think that the NIU is on purpose... Like when we post the score predictions and use stupid nicknames. I also wouldn't be surprised at all if we win by double digits. Wouldn't be surprised if we lose either.

                            Shocks: 64

                            NIU: 53

Ahaha far from it. I'm not saying a 9 point win is smart to predict either. But it's significantly easier to file a double-digit prediction into the "ridiculous" category.

I kind of am a noob if my post number doesn't signify that.
