WSU VERSUS NIU PREDICTIONS AND PREGAME DISCUSSIONS
I'll give you that. Hang around for a while and you'll see that we welcome conversations with opposing fans all the time. Check through some of our old pre game threads for non con games and you may see some evidence. The people on here are not as dumb and irrational as you might think.
Where you lose me is your unwillingness to cruise with a joke amongst generally like-minded friends on here. Even UNI fans would understand and have fun with it. Do you think they don't make fun of us?
And what I mean by "not knowing" is just that I've spent little time on this board.
Shocker weekend at UNI. I wonder if the track and field athletes get to go to women's bball game today and the guy's game tomorrow?
I'm wanting a Shocker sweep for all three!
They definitely could attend the women's game tonight if they wanted to.
Technically they would be able to attend the men's games but I doubt if that will happen. For one thing I would think this game is already a sell-out. I suppose they could figure out how to squeeze another 80+ people in. However, travel arrangements and logistics may be the determining factor. The final event of the track meet is scheduled for 2:35 pm. Unlike the Men's Basketball team the track & field teams don't have the luxury of charter flights (I don't think). They have a 7-our bus ride facing them and the weather could be a little iffy this weekend as well. Plus they will need to work a post-meet meal into the equation. My guess is they are heading back home on the bus ASAP following completion of the track meet unless road conditions due to the weather force them to stay overnight and come back Sunday. Travel budgets for the non-revenue sports aren't exactly at the luxury level.
That said this would have been a great road trip for Shocker fans who have the time, money and willingness to deal with potential travel disruptions and delays due to winter weather.

Another grinder for our young men and I don't see either team scoring above 60 in this one. If DC is healthy he and Shaq should contain Tuttle but will probably use all 10 fouls (it is UNI after all). Our secret weapon is Tevin Glass. For the past few games it appears he's finally figured out 3G's offensive and defensive schemes (reportedly the among the most difficult to learn) and he's finally broken the "glass" ceiling. If that's the case, he's a wild card for the rest of the Valley as they have absolutely no tape on him. Think about it, half way through the conference schedule and suddenly the Shockers have yet another stud that can come off the bench and offer solid minutes.
All that said, I too thought the Shox would lose at least two during Valley play and this is one of those losses I was projecting. I think this one comes down to the wire but we lose a close one. First team to hit 56 wins this one.
I share your enthusiasm for Tevin, but keep in mind, most of the new guys have had their burst of productivity at times this season. First Rashard, then Corey, Rauno, R'ian, Zach, Shaq, Bush and now Tevin.
My hope is that all of them bring just a little of their best to the game tomorrow. If they do, we win, regardless of Darius's back or foul trouble.
I think we could come up with something funnier than NIU if you ask me. Hell, I'll ride with that whole Cougars thing.
I agree on both counts. Let me remind you though that it was the college basketball national media who came up with the NIU thing. It's funny because in actuality we are the only ones who do know who they are. It's the rest of college basketball who couldnt get their name right because they don't know who they are or where they're from and it's "just a couple crappy mid majors anyway so who cares"
I just like to perpetuate that :)
I love what their team is doing this year. Jake's done a great job.

This is a WSU board. If you want a pro-NIU board, well you know where to go. Give it a rest already.
Hahaha - @ShockerFever: has already predicted two Shocker conference losses and picks UNI in the pick em - who looks weak and prissy?
I'm not backdooring myself on a NIU board, trying to appease other fan bases because we're being meanies. I'm also not crying about double digit wins for WSU on a WSU board. That would be weak and prissy, just like your ability to use the quote button.
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Alright alright. Call me shady and prissy all you want. I'll just have fun here being as die hard of a Shocker fan as anybody here while looking like I've actually had a high school education.
So, do you get the joke or don't get the joke? Apparently, it still has flown over your high school-educated head.
So if you pick WSU to win by double-digits on a WSU board, much to the dissatisfaction of you and NIU fans, makes them short of a high school diploma?
You're deplorable. You should probably hit the sidelines again, like you've done for the better part of the last year.
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.
