Shaq my man, you're going to have to realize you are no longer playing against 6'3" 165 lb big men like you saw in high school. This is big time D1 basketball where there is always someone bigger and better around every corner. You're no longer the biggest fish in the smallest pond my son. Accept that fact, look in the mirror and make that 2015 New Year resolution to bust your arse in the gym and practice, be receptive to feedback, listen, and play like your ball hair is on fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope for the best for this young man no matter how this turns out. Whether he realizes it or not, this is probably one of those "crossroads of life" decisions. The decision he makes here will likely change his life. He has an incredible gift, it would be so sad to see it wasted, or at the very least not nurtured. The opportunity and decision are his and his alone. He is the one that will have to pay the price in the future. Hopefully there are people around him that love him and only want the best for him and will tell him the hard truth. Success doesn't come easy, failure does. There is reward for working hard for a goal, even if you fall short. The only failure is failure to try. These are some of the lessons he will look back on when he is my age. I hope he doesn't look back on these with regret.

Shaq needs a Shocker history lesson about Joe Griffin.

Yes, he's a long way from the point in his development that Joe had reached when he decided not to fight through adversity and challenge. On the other hand, Shaq has a potentially much brighter financial future from basketball than a tough but shortish urban PG could ever have hoped for 25 years ago. Joe compromised his basketball future, such as it was, by walking away when things got tough. Hopefully Shaq won't do the same. He'd be hard pressed to be in a better situation for his development as a player and person than he has right now, and it would not serve him well to take the easy way out.

I see reading comprehension is not one of your better abilities. I do have to give you an "A" for your ability to misinterpret in order to make a point to fit your agenda.

I take offense to being called a nincompoop. Had I actually compared FVV to Jamar Howard, I would expect some well-deserved flak.

I understand that the inability to read and comprehend is considered a disability in the adult world. I will try to take your disability into consideration and be considerate of your limited capabilities when perusing your future posts, as I believe in showing compassion to those less fortunate.

I think what some of us have forgotten about Mr. Morris is that he came to the program with a reputation for not being the hardest working high school athlete. I quote from an article by Sully dated Oct 22, 2012, which was the day he verbally committed to Wichita State:

“Shaq has not had the best reputation for work ethic,” Cowherd said. “What (Marshall) was able to see was that some of that past, founded or unfounded, is not necessarily the case and the future could be really, really bright.”

Many of us project ourselves into the young man's head, stating that if we were him, we'd be sucking it up and doing exactly as 3G says because our future is so bright. But many of us tend to speculate that's all there is to it.

I applaud HCGM and his efforts to get Shaq to play to his potential and I believe he has yet to give up on the young man because, deep down, Gregg is a teacher and he wants nothing more than to get the most out of the young men that come to his program for their own betterment.

But I would say that IMHO, I believe this is the make or break season for young Mr. Morris and currently, he's closer to looking at the inside from the outside rather than solidifying a spot on this team. And again, I for one would love to see Shaq open up his mind and recognize the importance of hard work and strong ethics as it pertains to the rest of his life regardless of what it means for this team. Of course, having written that, I would prefer he do it for another 2 and 1/2 years in a Shocker uniform.

And again, I for one would love to see Shaq open up his mind and recognize the importance of hard work and strong ethics as it pertains to the rest of his life regardless of what it means for this team. Of course, having written that, I would prefer he do it for another 2 and 1/2 years in a Shocker uniform.

If he can do it for another 2 and 1/2 years with us, he might as well do his last year with us, too.

...If you think you're going to be able to find a program as equal or better to transfer to, now that you have established a reputation for me un-motivated, lazy, grumpy and whiny, think again. You're at the crossroads as we speak, if you think the grass is always greener, think again. Make that wrong turn, I guess we Shocker fans will monitor your success from time-to-time while you play at NE Oklahoma State or North Texas.

This is too logical. If this boils down to an issue on work ethic then he's looking at it through a different lense. He's probably thinking where can I go to continue my career that offers playing time and not having to continually bust my ass 24/7? I hope he comes to his senses.

Most of us, at 20 years old, knew more than all around us. Didn't care what others said because they just didn't understand. Only later in life did we realize that listening to others, coaches included, probably would have enhanced our opportunities for success. Ah youth, wasted on the young.
