This is one more game in which our frosh got experience, and we got a W.
They don't look nearly as lost as they did in those first few games against DII opponents. I am starting to believe that how great this season will be depends on Nurger. He is the wildcard, assuming Baker plays like he did in the 2nd half of this game and FVV returns to form, which I believe he will.
if Nurger can shore up his defense...."When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

NOT worried about TC, FVV or RB........wouldn't trade our 1,2 and 3 for anyone else's.
DC runs hot and cold. Got to have him hot more, rebounding and attacking the rim like
he can when he WANTS to. RN and RK are the keys to getting past the final 32. HAVE
to have MORE production from them on the glass and defensively. ZERO rebounds from
RN, Glass, ZB and WB last night

Well, I had a night to sleep on it am looking for the bright side of yesterdays road win. We had setbacks getting there to the game, got off the big-bird with eager bulldawgs awaiting us, expecting the unexpected being on the cold and lonely road. Drake played a good game and will win some home games. FVV gets wrung up for his 3rd foul, argues with the zebra, gets foul number 4 so quick it made my head spin and we still have 11 minutes left to play. Enter Mr. Baker at the point guard slot who led us like a champ the rest of the way to the win. Henderson and Brown were troopers on both sides of the court. Lot's of Valley teams would have crumbled like a stale cookie with all these happenings but the Shockers found a way to escape an ugly loss that was there for the weak of heart to earn. We did not do everything right but we are 1-0.
Now the Shocks will face some intense practices that will be very scary hard but instructional at the same time. Improvements must be made because in this here lonesome Valley, everything including the kitchen sink will be administered toward us and everybody wants a piece of our gunslingers. Our foes are tired and sick of us so we must go back to the basics of MTXE, play angry because we are not satisfied, type basketball.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Until our new bigs start rebounding better and get to the point where they know what to do with the ball in their hands, we are going to struggle offensively, Evan or no Evan.
I LOVE what Evan brings to our team. I HATE that he has to bring it at the 4 instead of the 2 or 3. That is a shortcoming of of front line, not Evan.Last edited by wusphlash; January 1, 2015, 12:16 PM.Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

I think that a combo of Evan and Kelly is sufficient at the 4. Until Drake, Carter has played well (I think 7-8 rebound average the past 2-3 games prior to Drake. Carter has tended to foul so I worry about his back ups. Nurger and Bush W. Aren't ready in game situations yet. I hope they develop.

Not only was Evan a Free Safety in football, he was "Named All-State in basketball and also All-State Football Top 11... Chosen as the Barry Sanders High School Athlete of the Year by the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission... A member of the National Honor Society and a National Scholar-Athlete... As a junior was named Second Team All-Class 6A and All-Wichita City League.""I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."
