Count me in the mildly concerned crowd about our post play. I watched Shaq a lot (and on replay) in the St. Louis game. His footwork and effort were awful. He'll get murdered against a quality big, including Tuttle,

I did not watch it again, but I thought that Shaq did a nice job in the Utah game against the big 7 footer (NBA lottery guy), and pushed him out from the basket, especially in the second half when Carter got into foul trouble, where he was not comfortable. However, Shaq does not do as well against stretch post players who can play on the perimeter and shoot the 3 ball. Ultimately, Shaq may get less time against stretch 5's and more against players like Tuttle who are good low post players and play around his strengths.

I think it's interesting when someone believes we have to have a 7 footer or 6'10' guy to belly up to other bigs to make it deep in March. Our FF run had no such player. Really, EO was never a huge contributor. I love EO, but not a difference maker for us at any point. IMHO we have plenty of talent to be right where we need to be in March. We just need a couple of months of seasoning.

SM, RK and RN are going to be more than capable by then. I am not counting on BW for any huge contributions. TG. Nope. Feel for the dude.

We will be fine, especially if DC can stay out of foul trouble a little better.

I get what you're saying and don't necessarily disagree. But DC is NOT Carl Hall and IMHO, Call Hall was the beast at the 5 during our FF run that the opposing teams underestimated and couldn't handle even when they realized what they were up against. The three-headed monster kept us in that game against Kentucky last year and if FVV had made his final shot, chances are really good those three would have carried us to the FF again, if not an NC. But, until Nurger and Shaq get some consistent play, we've got a bit of an uphill climb to get to last year's heights.

Another test for the young bigs. Good, they'll mature faster that way. I expect a closer game than we are used to but it will still be a CKA win.

Regarding the bigs. Last year we had 3 seniors and a junior. Little change in performance November through March. This year we have three freshmen and a senior. Expect big improvement by March.
