Bingo. Say tickets are available to students from 8 a.m. - 4 pm. Any tickets not claimed go on sale to the general public starting 3 hrs before gametime.

It's beyond embarrassing. The student section was much more organized during the Turgeon era than now. Somebody needs to step up and make it worthy of a Top 15 program. As far as filling up the seats, the athletic department better be in ultra-thinking mode and figuring out how to solve the problem. Unfortunately, I have serious doubts with that. And that may be even more embarrassing than anything the students are doing or not doing.
What's disappointing as well is that those tickets would be put to good use by non-season ticket holders--like me.

      • When tickets sell out in 45 minutes, yet not all of them are being used, it's beyond obvious that demand and involvement is not the issue. The issue is the ticket giveaway system. Frankly, I don't care how you fix it, just fix it already.

As a bonus it would help if we could get better competition into CKA, and a game that feels a bit more 50-50 than someone like Tulsa. But that's just a bonus, not the real issue at hand.

GOSH... I know, right. Somebody should do something about that. Lack of effort I suspect.

          • The only way to get better competition into the roundhouse is to start sucking. I'd rather not go to that extreme.

I know. No one's fault. But it is the way it is.

Marshall said on the Coach's Show that they want to give tickets out to the students the day before the game.

                • Wow, when you're the reigning NCAA BB COY and you send out a message to the students, it gets national play! That wouldn't have been the case four years ago.

                  • Simple solution w/ no effort required

                    1) Have students pick up ticket 1 day prior to game day, any remaining tickets go to GA
                    2) Lift the requirement that students must show a student ID
                    3) Profit

                    • Just do it the old way, scan ID's as their ticket into the game.

The only problem I see with this is, as a student, you don't know if you are going to get into the game or not. Thus, you may be more likely to just not go. I stick with my 1,2,3 approach.

If they don't show an ID, they could do whatever they wanted with that ticket (i.e. scalp it to some non student). I'm not sure WSU will be wanting that.

Only exception to this is if they give said ticket to some hottie! Then all will be good ;)

                            • What if:
                              - They sold packages to students to garuntee tickets.
                              - Those that aren't bought are open to the rest of the students.
                              - Any left after that, become available to the public.

Those that buy the package are likely the ones who will be going to all the games any way and would give the ticket office a good idea of how many tickets maybe left over. Also, if other students think there may not be as may tickets available, because of the packages, it might encourage the ones who really want to go to be the first to pick up the per game tickets.

                              Just a tought!
