And home losses are worth substantially less than pyrite. Especially home losses to #262 RPI teams like Illinois State losing at home to Indiana State.

It's a blow, but not a fatal one at this point.

        • Why is everyone crucifying UNI? We lost to Evansville twice just two years ago. We always struggle there. What's to keep UNI from still having a season beneficial to the MVC. We are just so quick to scream crappy conference, crappy teams. The psychology of this escapes me.

Even with 5 conference losses UNI is expected to be a top 30 RPI team.

Evansville upsets Northern Iowa. Aces will be a real factor in the MVC. League vastly improved from last season. Much more than Wichita St.

Not sure exactly what he is trying to say.

He's saying last year it was all about us. This year the MVC is not just about WSU. There are other good teams regardless of what Shockernetters think..

                • @BikeIdiot: I suspect he is looking at UE's record now 11-2 but perhaps hasn't studied the strength of schedule. It's the Valley and weird things happen that shouldn't. At least it was UNI a getting Evansvilled rather than us.

We do get pretty upset though when talking heads scream crappy conference, crappy teams.

                      • We will have our hands full with UNI and UE. Both of these teams will create match up challenges for us.

                          I agree.

Drake is always tough at home. Evansville has been a thorn in our side since I can't remember when. Illinois State would sacrifice their first born to beat us.

No matter how good your team is, the road is not a friendly place. These first 2 days of valley play have now reminded everyone of that....

                          • Oh, UNI lost?

                            Wow. Paint me Shocked! Hahaha!

I have and always will be of the scorched Earth mentality. Shockers win every game and don't really giveashit after that.

Misery Valley. Make sure we get a life boat. Kids and women of the valley, ie every other team can drown.

We shouldn't have to apologize for being the only program to invest in life jackets and wet suits when sailing the North Atlantic in January. The other teams are the kids wearing jean shorts to the pool, or maybe, if they're lucky, new swim trunks and a pair of goggles or a kickboard.

                            God I hate this league.

                            Scorched Earth. Scorched Earth.

And probably a few other teams on occasion as well. The question will be can this team consistently find a way to win when things are not going totally their way. We could easily have our hands full with Illinois State which is the immediate concern for the Shocks.

Having been there, I will tell you that is a tough place to play. Alcohol flows freely, some of the fans are just not nice, the lighting is strange there (almost like an Ice Capades feel to it, not that I have every been to one), and it also takes at least three days to get used to the depressed nature of the city itself and reset your mood.
