        Wow. 5 guys from T.O?

Excited to see Mullings- I've heard he is an absolute stud. I'm more excited to see Tekele shut him down.

They appear to have some good size. Should be a good first test for our young and inexperienced frontcourt.

        Shox- 75
        Aggies- 64

          That's a T.O. pipeline if I've ever seen one.

SIU AD Mario Moccia is a frontrunner for the NMSU AD opening. SIU fans have been hoping he would leave for years now. He's definitely been looking for a new job lately as I believe he was a finalist for an opening in Georgia a few months ago.

                #11 Johnathon Wilkins...

Brother of John Wilkins from Illinois State, famous for nut-punching Stutz and getting tossed, but creating enough tension to lead to Garrett's foul trouble that cost WSU the game...

I now dislike this team very much. Look at the parents' names and where these guys are from. Definitely brothers. John and Johnathon... Good job being creative...
                NMSU roster:
Johnathon Wilkins (11) Forward - 2017-18: Helped guide NM State to its 21st NCAA Tournament appearance…led the Aggies to their third WAC regular-season title in

                Illinois St. roster:
John Wilkins (13) G - 2012-13/senior at Illinois State Played in all 33 games, starting 14 (of ISU's last 15 contests) • Netted 11 points on

I remember when we played Texas Tech here, the Red Raiders had a Euro guy who played at Seward before going to Lubbock. When he shot free throws, our students chanted "U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!"

Fair enough. He also landed in the D-league, which is good and all, but a little less intimidating. He signed, undrafted with the Kings and got released after 2 months. http://www.sactownroyalty.com/2014/1...-deonte-burton
7'5" and an early exit from college makes you think this guy was a lottery pick kind of guy, but landing in the D-league means there were some glaring weaknesses at the next level. I looked him up a little bit, and the general feeling was that he was the best shot blocker of all time, a very good offensive rebounder, a decent scorer with good hands, but a big liability in conditioning and endurance.

It's pretty much what you would expect, although I wasn't expecting to read that he had good hands. I figured it was 5 blocked shots a game along with 10 points off put-backs, but with bad hands and bad footwork leading to turnovers plus poor mobility. His "prospect analysis" (the 2nd link above) points out that he needs work on his inside game which validates the footwork and turnovers theory. I would imagine this is the kind of guy you can still game plan very effectively for. You can run him out of gas in a few minutes. Well, if his brother is anything like him, we can just have Gumby drag him around the 3 point line for a while and that should take care of it. :)

Next few games offer a good test to our front court newcomer candidates, although I
am sure GM has gotten some pretty good insight already from our own scrimmages and
the new guys playing against one another. Like everyone I am high on the team and
the newcomers BUT replacing the level of play and the physicality of last years three
MEN will be tough, especially in the early going. 89-74 good guys. Memphis will the
                            first REAL test.

But last year many were saying that we MUST have a center step up and claim the position. Didn't happen! They shared the position! 35-1.
