I agree with your post but this typo made me smile. This percentage is what it really feels like.

      It wasn't a typo ;)

      • Indiana State down 20 with 7:30 to play in the first. They went more than 10 minutes without a bucket, first bucket to end the drought at the 8:05 mark to get the Trees to 10. They did get a free-throw to move them from 6 points to 8 points otherwise they would have been scoreless for something like 11 minutes.

He's 14 years younger, from Big 10 country, and he has a better media persona. And, ultimately, he's pretty well keeping up with Marshall in performance -- obviously he doesn't have the undefeated season, but success-wise VCU and WSU are very, very similar over the last several years.

For every major, elite job that opens up, Smart will be the first choice. (Not saying Smart would deliver better results at those teams by any means, but from an AD perspective, I think they'll always choose Smart over Marshall.)

Indiana would want Shaka first. And I don't think HCGM will like a job where he's the second choice, even if Shaka didn't take the job (which I think he would in a second).

"North"-wise, Bloomington, Indiana is roughly equivalent to Manhattan, KS. And we're the second-southern-most Valley team, so I'm not sure the conference as a whole is much different, either. 157% of Valley teams are in Indiana/Illinois/Iowa.
Oh, I certainly recognize that Wichita is no winter paradise either. I remember in his first year here, Gregg commented about the weather after the Snow Game against UAB. "I am not sure why everyone dreams about a White Christmas."

Without Marcus Marshall, MoST is 10th in the MVC.

I assume that was the halftime score?

EDIT: Yes it was. Now it's currently 27-26 in favor of a D2 school. No, not SWMS

                  • Embarrassing as hell but MSU losing might be for the best from an RPI standpoint. I don't think they can hang with Wazzu in the 5th place game, but they might be able to anklebite Rice in the 7th place match. The game against Anchorage doesn't count for computer ratings whether they win or lose.

                    This league sucks.

Absolutely pathetic in a coach's fourth season at the helm.

MoSt was supposed to take a step forward this year. Instead there is just nothing to that team other than Marshall.
