What may have been amusing once got tired a long, long time ago.
What about the addition of "balls"? That was a revolutionary and inspired addition to the chant...

Should they also stop booing referees? I mean it's not clever or original. Not to mention it's rude. They probably shouldn't cheer either, I saw another crowd doing that on tv the other day.

        Flawless logic...

To be fair, I don't mind the chant. I have been chanting "you still suck" for at least 13 years. I think that is the issue. I am in my early 30s now and I was chanting that as a student. This program has upped its game, maybe the students should as well.

What are the suggested replacements for "You Still Suck" after made free throws:

          "It's a Miracle"

"Even A Cave Man Can Do It"

"Isn't That Special" (Church Lady style of course)

I like the "It's A Miracle" idea ,,(but that's just me) since we have trended towards pretty good free throw defence in the last couple seasons. (opponent ftm %) LOL

At least be witty with your **** talking. If some moron stood up and simply just yelled "You SUCK" to heckle the players, eventually people would be tired of the idiot and his lack of heckling ability. Why is that when 500 people do it, it's ok? The heckler who is creative and witty gets a cheer or a chuckle from the crowd.

To the people with the ridiculous counter argument of "should people sit down too? Should we stop booing the refs?" it's not even remotely close to the issue. The issue is that it's lame, not funny, not entertaining, and tacky.

Now that we have that Marshallville "organization", maybe it can act as the leadership to change the tradition of this chant. You always need some sort of leader to change something like this. 500 students won't all do it over night without it.

Why not the entire student section do the sad trombone sound on a missed freethrow? Get Shocker Sound involved with it.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I much prefer the "getting silenced" method. You stand up, make noise, wiggle your little sticks in the air :) and hope for a miss. When they miss, you clap. When they hit the shot, you get silenced and you sit down. You don't really even need to say anything.

I especially don't like "you still suck" when we are playing in an exhibition game. That's actually kind of offensive for all kinds of reasons. I think you save "you still suck" for rivalry games. I am okay with it for that one particular situation. Saying it to Northwood or Newman, for example, is embarrassing to me.

Here's the bar ... now figure out a way to raise it:

Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!
