Crude is not witty unless it has an element of truth. You're sitting in the stands telling a player who's jock you're not qualified to hold, and who just scored a point against your team, that he sucks. No, he definitely does not suck. You are the one who sucks, because you're older than 12, don't understand how lame you sound and you still think it's funny. That's the RoyalShock dictionary definition of suck. ;)

I wish the band was allowed to play something on missed FTs, but I think they are only allowed to play during timeouts.

I have always felt that the most effective way to impact an opponents free throw shooting is to be just as quiet as we are when the Shocks are shooting FT's but just after the player starts his shooting motion and just before he releases his shot then explode with as much noise as possible.

Trying to coordinate that though might be very difficult. Even if they catch on and know it's coming you at least might be in their head a little bit.

Then go all PSYOPS on them and sometimes just don't scream at all. They wouldn't know what's coming.

I like it. Have the cheerleaders hold up play cards.

          1. Quiet/Scream & Wave
          2. Quiet/Quiet
          3. Scream & Wave/Quiet
          4. Scream & Wave/Scream & Wave

These players are so used to crowds screaming and waving stuff all the time I don't think it really bothers them that much. Nothing like a could change-up to throw get a guy off balance.

You're asking a lot of a group that can't even master the "Stand and Clap for Defense" mandate. We do one thing people, and it isn't that hard. I want to punch people in the face every time they try to start a "Let's Go Shockers" 90 seconds into the game when the entire arena is still standing and clapping.

Do you think anyone would notice if we put some of this over the opponents basket?

If Tekele's man is the one shooting, then no they would not notice.

Student season tickets were sold back when I was a student in the 1980's. They weren't that expensive - I think around $125 or so...of course, a semester's tuition was only a little over $500, green fees to the WSU golf course were $3.50, and pitchers of beer at The Cedar were $2.00. One year, we even camped out just to buy the season tix.

We had to camp out every season and pay. We were allowed a student and a student guest. Dean Rhatigan and Margi Dersi had a heck of a time making sure we all stayed out of trouble and held our proper places in line. There were variations on the theme - stay overnight, don't stay overnight with check-ins, numbered positions, etc. It was mostly a disorganized mess.

We always dreaded the day when the line started - that meant it was time to line-up ourselves. Late 70's/early 80's amid the Antoine, Cliff, Ozell, Randy, X-Man era, line-up might last up to a week.

Something similar occurred every season I attended WSU.

BTW, I do not think students should pay for WSU games. They have been stuck with plenty of fees to support athletics already.

I hate to wonder off subject a bit, but i saw this thread started out as build a new arena or play in IBA. I couldn't help but to lol. Koch has no issues atm and is probably last on the wsu list of stuff to improve on campus. Wsu has a nicer venue than ksu.

"you suck!" and "you still suck!" is perfectly fine with me.

I don't think that the niceness is really the issue that is being discussed. The issues center around the demand for tickets, the Arena being re-seated soon and corporations, people, etc. who have lots of money taking over, and most of all the need to maximize money that is raised by the basketball program (sky boxes and additional seating would solve this problem). If you live out of town, you probably don't care. If you live in town, and don't have tickets, you may not care, and if you have tickets and a lot of money, you may not care, but if you have tickets and don't have money laying around, you probably are concerned about the re-seating of Koch Arena.

I don't know if other schools do it but at Loyola when a opposing player misses a free throw, the students yell " you let the whole team down". I Liked it

That was funny, with the finger pointing. We've adopted it at my house. Didn't put the trash out on trash day? You let
                                your whole team down!
