" but if you have tickets and don't have money laying around, you probably are concerned about the re-seating of Koch Arena"

I'll give you my season tickets when you pry them from my cold, dead hands ~ Charlton Heston
I believe I'm quoting him correctly.

How about after a FT miss: "Back to practice"
"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

I just saw on Facebook that students that go to the women's game against Creighton will get first dibs on the Newman and Tulsa student tickets. That's pretty clever if you ask me.

Clever. They should give 1 coupon at the beginning of the game and then another coupon at the end of the game and require both to exchange for a ticket.

Ugh... glad I'm not student anymore. I'd happily pay a decent amount out of pocket for a student season pass, over the mess that is now student ticket distribution.

I doubt this will work, in terms of student attendance at the womens game on Saturday.

If the point is that they want students to attend Saturday's women's game, they'd better give out tickets at some point in the second half or after the game. You don't want to give people the opportunity to come get tickets and then just turn around and leave.

The article says students won't receive tickets until after the womens game has concluded.

But students shouldn't have to earn the tickets in the first place, because they've already paid for them via student fees. It is akin to making the donkey pay for the carrot you are about to hang out in front of his nose.

If student ticket demand is such that you have to start playing games during distribution, then you might want to start re-thinking the model altogether.

I think it's an interesting way to bring out support for our other programs. Students are going to line up early to get tickets anyway, May as well let the "line" be at a women's game.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

There are only 1200 tickets for students. History tells us that more often than not, a bunch don't get used when they ALL get picked up, sometimes very quickly. I've been a proponent of them finding ways to get the tickets used, one way or the other. It seems to me getting kids that prioritize attending other sports competitions is a good place to start.

I have no problem with Athletic Department providing incentives to attend the Lady Shocks games. However, I don't agree that those who oppose this or who don't attend those games are not true Shockers and I will be attending both volleyball games, the men's BB game and the women's BB game this weekend.

We all support the Shockers in varying ways and at varying levels of financial support based upon a lot differing circumstances. Just because someone may have a different opinion than you or I may have does not mean they are not a true Shocker. Some of us are more fanatical than others in some ways, but I don't think any of us are in a position to really judge who is or isn't a true Shocker although there are not many Shockernetters who I don't consider to be true Shockers.

The student section still had quite a few empty seats for the exhibition game. There should be a way to see if a ticket gets used. If you pick up a ticket and don't use it, you don't get tickets for the rest of the year. That might trim the field by a few people.

Uh... perhaps because WBB slots somewhere between the annual Westminster Kennel Club dog show, and professional ice curling as far as viewership/attendee demand goes. Just because an event or entity exists, doesn't mean it can be shoved down the populace's throat with a "thank you sir, may I have another" garnered in response. Many of us are proud of, and totally happy for, what WBB at WSU has become, but that doesn't necessarily mean we are going to be counted as butts-in-seats - and certainly not if it is being forced or compelled.

You probably need to dial this back a bit. If the correlation is that only those who attend all WSU sports are true fans, then we suddenly have a "true shocker" fanbase numbering in the dozens. The majority of donors - big and small - that make WSU MBB what it is today couldn't tell you a single starter on the WBB team.

You would have to make exceptions for people who are sick, physically cannot go, something comes up at the last minute, etc.
