If Marshall wanted this to be a big deal, it would be. But as evident by all these years, he would much rather put his time, money and resources into making other priorities bigger deals. I'm ok with that.
Hell here lately fans have been getting two "Shocker Madness" events. One at the beginning of the season and then another freebie event at the end of the season once the tournament is over.Comment

My sons grew-up playing football, as well as other sports like wrestling, basketball, a little lacrosse. And with the length of sports seasons, and the sports seasons always overlapping each other, it seemed like we never stopped going. Even during summer, there are all the football camps, AAU, basketball camps. And like most parents, my wife and I placed our sons educations and athletics above all else. That meant WSU athletic events took a back seat (actually, there wasn't even room for WSU athletic events anywhere in the car). BUT, that's life. WSU Mens Basketball knows they can't please all of the people all of the time. So I don't believe a reluctance to compete against Friday or Saturday football has anything to do with it. I also don't believe 3G wouldn't want this to be a big event. After all, a roundhouse packed to the gills with wild, crazy arse fans for nothing more than what amounts to a glorified practice, is just one more great recruiting tool. By the same token, 3000 fans sitting quietly on their hands in a cavernous arena at midnight, is not a great recruiting tool. As others have already said, when the fans embrace a big event, so will 3G.
