My guess is that the MVC would have more leverage and therefore receive the most benefit by choosing one city over a long period.

I would love to see a rotation of KC, St. Louis, Chicago and Las Vegas but expect to see one city for five additional years(probably St. Louis).

If this does stay in St. Louis and that's all there is to it, I want the first question from a reporter to be: Why is this a "historic" announcement if we are just staying the same?

As confident as when you said we're playing at Duke next season?

I'll be equally happy if Vegas or KC get thrown into the mix in some way.

"Historic" as in hyperbole or puffery.

Just an opinion, I have no information and wouldn't share it if I did. I just don't think we're done with St. Louis, and I probably don't have as bad a taste (even though I have a lot of complaints) in my mouth about Arch Madness as some others seem to.

I think this is another thing that leads me to believe it's more than just staying in St. Louis. There would be no point in having a Q&A session or a press conference, they could just put out a press release saying "The other bids were great but St. Louis is still the best option blah blah blah."

I agree. My only complaints are distance and parking.

It is likely that my parking itch will never be scratched regardless of the host city.

It seems reasonable that KC should be selected to shorten the drive distance for some universities, which have made the long drive for many years. A fairness issue, but I could be all out of whack again.

plus the are going to -TRY- and stream it live. Why go to the bother if they are saying --status quo--. My greatest fear is they take it to Chicago "to grow that market" and make the crowds more "fairer" to all schools.

One possible reason why they would make a status-quo announcement with fanfare is to stroke the ego of STL's Convention and Visitor's bureau, or whatever they call it. If so, that would tell me all the bids to host came in surprisingly low, and now the MVC is pandering.

I have to admit I'm actually kind of excited right now, kind of nice to have this feeling about basketball in the middle of summer. I'm fully expecting to be let down though.

I don't know why, but I'm predicting STL/KC alternating every year.

They took bids from multiple NEUTRAL cities, so Chicago has to be out.
