My understanding is that they began December 1891 shortly after James Naismith secured two peach baskets to the railing of the gallery at the Springfield, MA YMCA. Not sure if the Village People were there or not.

Somehow though I sense this doesn't actually answer your question. :bball_spin:

We've had less info this summer than any year I recall. I have a feeling this is not due to a lack of observation, but rather due to requests that the observers not say anything about what they saw.

I will give my summation, from not having seen anything:

      1) We've got some hot Fr that are going to be impossible to keep off the floor.

      2) Wamukota is an absolute in the paint eraser.

      3) FVV, Baker, and Cotton have moved their game up a notch.

      4) Morris is a beast down low. Enforces his will around the hoop and has some shooting range.

      5) Holland is a more athletic, more refined , better shooting version of David Kyles.

      6) Carter is starting to look a bit more like Carl Hall with a mid-range jumper.

Anything else you want to know from the pickup games I never saw? I think I did pretty well on that list, and I'll be happy to address any questions.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

With all due respect for your opinions, if you haven't seen them practice this summer, how did you come to your conclusions?

Do you have ESP or did you read their palms or maybe it was the Amazing Kreskin that shared information with you?

I think you need to read between the lines. Aargh, thank you for your "non ovservance". When you weren't observing how did Corey Henderson not look?

No, he does not have ESP - he has ESPN. One has a mute, the other does not.
If you take the high road, you won't find much traffic there . . .

Decent handles. Heady player. A little raw. Needs to bulk up and needs some work on D. FVV got past him to the rim a few times.

FVV gets past a lot of people to the rim, so having him do it to Henderson isn't necessarily a huge mark against Corey.

                    I'm particularly curious about:

                    Kelly -Is he a 3 or a 4?
Brown - is he day 1 ready?
Glass - will he start at the 4 with Carter at the 5, or will he back up Carter? Will he beat out Kelly/Morris?
                    Livin the dream

Actually, FVV gets past everybody to the rim. It's pretty easy to report that he got past Henderson without actually seeing any summer ball.

We're going to have to get HCGM posting here to answer those questions. Anybody want to make a fake HCGM user and answer these questions, since we really don't have a clue about what's going on this summer - other than FVV is running the steps at Cessna, and being observed (I believe) by Danny Ainge.

                        Scrimmage today

I attended the scrimmage today. It started at around 3:30 PM. Based on Aargh's questions above, my view is that Morris will back up Carter at the 4 spot. Tevin Glass is too skinny to play the 4 position. Evan Wessel shot very well today which was very good to see. I see him backing up Tekele Cotton at the 3 position. As for the other newcomers, I really liked Corey Henderson, Jr. He shot very well today and is a good ball handler. I also really like Rauno Nurger. He is quick at 6-19, & has a 7-foot wing span. He handles the ball very well, is a shot blocker & has a variety of moves around the basket plus he has good outside shooting range. Darius Carter really looked good today. He has a lot of moves around the basket & hit his outside jumpers very well today. There are some other new players on the roster who are very athletic, but I didn't see them shoot the ball very well today except for Rian Holland, the 6-0 combo guard.

                            Question for any scrimmage watchers:

Will Rauno and Bush hold down the center position without much help? Knowing the answer to this will help the guessing game about the lineup more than anything.

Is there going to be a log jam at PF/SF?

Also how funny will it be if Darius is the center because of his experience and Rauno is the PF :)
