It seems many people try to compare our program to where Gonzaga is as a program. I do hope we can maintain a level of consistency and dominance that Gonzaga has achieved. I think this is the blueprint for us. The problem is the MVC doesn't have a BYU or Saint Marys. The WCC > MVC. As much as it is hard to admit losing Creighton was huge. I honestly don't see a team in the Valley getting to the point where they could make the tournament as an at-large bid consistently. We have done what we need to here at WSU, but the other teams have not. Replacing Creighton with Loyola? Really? I think we are at a position where our conference is going to hold us back. I also think this could be a factor in Marshall leaving if he ever decides to go. I don't think he is the kind of guy that will enjoy beating up and inferior competetion every year.
Bradley received a commitment from a Top 100 4 Star today; chose them over Indiana. At least baby steps in the right direction.
The biggest challenge we have in keeping Marshall is the MoVal Conference. Koch and other big time boosters help pay the Marshall salary, but what has Sexton done to get us out of the freakin' MoVal Conference?

She hasn't denied publicly has she? I want to hear her say on KWCH that she doesn't have KU Boobs - only Shocker Boobs.
This is a perfectly reasonable thing to expect. I think that everyone needs to bombard sports daily with phone calls tomorrow until we get an answer on this.
This board is no different than any other board. A number of reasonably minded people overshadowed by a number of inflammatory idiots. I came on here yesterday to get a feel for whether the people on this board were worried about your coach leaving for MU. It wasn't just that you weren't worried (turns out no need for worry. Marshall is still at WSU), it was that many refused to believe that he had met or ever would meet with officials from MU about the job. Marshall and MU didn't reach an agreement. That's fine. Good luck and best wishes to WSU. But all of you people who went on and on about how the Marshall to MU rumor was created out of thin air and pure Missouri fantasy were dead wrong. The rumor wasn't created out of thin air and Missouri fantasy. It was created out of a now publicly acknowledged meeting between Marshall and Alden where the two discussed whether they could reach an agreement to bring your coach to MU. That's a fact. Any of you who denied this turned out to be dead wrong. Now, peace out. I've got to go back to my own board and read all of that drivel...which is not so different than some of the bellyaching drivel I read here.
Don't know if you're still in the neighborhood or back to reading Tigerdrivel.com, but it's no surprise you found our cranks tiresome, MU. So do many of us.
Your belief about the Marshall to MU idea is pretty wildly overblown, though. Yes, Marshall apparently met Mike Alden, although we don't know under what circumstances. But to say they couldn't "reach an agreement" is delusional. The reality is that there was never a snowball's chance in hell that Marshall would go to Missouri. Between what he remembers from his first two years here, the tough challenge he knows Kim Anderson is facing, and what Marshall has going at WSU now, where his team is a legitimate Final Four contender -- with all that, even a bunch of SEC football money wasn't about to lure the guy who says, "You can't buy happy." He's where he wants to be, and the superficial appeal of a big-name conference doesn't change the step down it would be in terms of basketball to go from WSU to Columbia.
If it makes you feel better to know that Marshall didn't run and hide when he saw Mike Alden, so be it. Good luck with your team, and good luck to Kim Anderson. And let's hope for that Intrust-Sprint series to get started in KU's backyard soon.

more evidence that demands an answer - is Jenn KU Boobs or not? We demand she post her WSU Boobs!
So UNLV in the 80's and early 90's wasn't a dream job?
UCLA or Arizona wasn't a dream job in 2011 or whatever it was, when the PAC-10/12 was a one bid league?
What a tool bag.
Parsons has been washed up for a while now and is probably just trying to get on Jenn's good side so she can laugh at his lame one-liners on Sports Sunday.
You could say the same thing about Memphis in the C-USA...

Perhaps it's just semantics but my sense was that Coach Marshall spoke with Mike Alden but that they never got to he point of a face-to-face meeting. Then again I could be easily missing something or misinterpreting something. They could have met or run into each other in KC or somewhere. In any case, it sounds like 3G, being the smart guy he is, politely listened and then informed Alden that the timing simply wasn't right for him. Will that answer be different at some point in the future? Maybe. Who knows.
