Don't know if he's interested or not, but he doesn't strike me as the type that would be.

      • Hard to imagine for a guy who obviously likes stability, and likes to teach and develop players.

There aren't many rock-solid situations in the league. Gregg Popovich has one with the league's model franchise in San Antonio (and the right spelling for his first name), and as a fan I personally would be delighted to have Marshall coaching the Spurs if he weren't at WSU -- but as it is, I'd rather see the northern 3G stay right where he is.

        • Gregg commented, towards the end of this year, how much energy was needed to meet media obligations and the travel required. I don't get the feeling he would be tempted by an NBA schedule and the associtated travel, interviews, etc.

I know one thing. The NBA is not very interesting.

Maybe Marshall wants to coach there, though.

              • Very possible, WstateU. You have some remarkable tricks in your repertoire.

But it does seem like a pretty unlikely fit. For Marshall, that is -- not for the monkeys.

I would have actually thought the same thing about Brad Stevens before he left Butler for the Celtics. Again, the NBA, that is -- not the monkeys.

If you're trying to say that there are no 100% sure things, almost everyone agrees. II would also agree that it appears that Marshall is happy and staying here for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, I tend to agree with that. I don't think the timing is right for Greg. Perhaps in about 4 years from now he might make once last career move for one final huge payday before he retires. OTOH, he may stay at Wichita State for the remainder of his coaching career and if he continues to have success at the highest levels we will all be paying him rent because he'd would own the town.

One might ask... How did the monkeys get up your a$$ in the first place? I will hang up and listen.

For your sake, I hope not. That could hurt worse than a kick in the grapes.

Pretty good -- thanks for calling, Dennis. Or is it Ron?

                                Which can be very painful.
